Experience with Cooper CS4 Touring Tires or Goodyear Assurance Comfortreds

Does anyone have experience with Cooper CS4 Touring or Goodyear Assurance Comfortred tires? I am looking to replace my Eagle LSs on the LaCrosse in about a month. At about 32000 miles the Eagles are looking kind of marginal. I am more interested in comfort and treadwear than fantastic handling.

I am going to buy from either Cooper or Goodyear as they are the last two American tire companies.

Any input would be appreciated.

Re: Experience with Cooper CS4 Touring Tires or Goodyear Assurance Comfortreds

I ordered a set of CS4 for a good customer that drives an Impala. He told me they were the quietest tires he's ever had. I also had a set put on my father in laws SC1. It's a Saturn so nothing makes it quiet.

The one thing that I notice about the CS4 is the sidewall stiffness. Reminds me of a Michelin. The CS4 treadwear rating was 720 on both sets.

Where are Michellin's produced?I have sold Cooper's on customer's cars.I have never had any problems with them.Goodyear's are overpriced IMO.I would check out the Tire rack and read some reviews also.

I believe Michelin is a French company. I had some Michelin's on my Hyundai Elantra GT and they were pretty good.

I am now thinking about having my money do at least one lap around the U.S. before it ends up in Japan Inc.'s or Europe Inc.'s hands.

Re: Experience with Cooper CS4 Touring Tires or Goodyear Assurance Comfortreds

Yesterday, I had four Goodyear Assurance Comfortreds installed on the LaCrosse. The price out the door at the Tire Service Center was $603.80. After a $40 mail in rebate the cost will be reduced to $563.80. Nobody off base could touch this price. The Cooper CS4s would have been at $780 installed. Unfortunately Redstone does not carry the Cooper brand.

personally, i wont put goodyears on any of my vehicles again. i have had too many issues with them, customers come back and complain about the ride, or they are out of balance, out of round, its just a big mess. my impala has them on it from the factory, integrity's i believe and im dying to rip them off there and stick some different tires on it.

Take out Goodyear and replace GM and it sounds familiar. When you make millions of products some are going to fail. So far I have had no issues with Goodyear tires and will continue to support either them or Cooper as long as they make a good product.
