96 blazer fan control doesn't blow any air
the fan just stopped working last night. it went off then came on again when i started car from running errands. went in today and it doesn'tr blow anything. is this a fuse issue ( i can not see any fuse labeled for this) resistor, relay or motor?

There should be a fuse for the blower. Check the blower motor cage for debris.
Ck. your owner's manual. More than likely you have two fuse boxes. Last edited by MrCritical : 11-24-2008 at 07:21 AM. Reason: addt. info. |

There has to be a fuse somewhere for it. That would be my first guess. The resistor would be next, but usually you drop a speed, not all function, with those, I think. The resistor in an '85 S-10 is under the hood on top of the blower box...I'm not sure where they put it 11 years later.

Re: 96 blazer fan control doesn't blow any air
same place. truck never changed as far as i know.
anyways, i would say its a blower motor problem, if it doesnt work on any speeds at all, and if it is intermittent. i would turn it on and smack it a couple times, see if it starts working again. may have a bad spot on the commutator. easiest way to tell if the motor is bad. other than that, i would hook up a test light in place of the blower motor and see if it lights up, if it does then you verified you have power and ground so then the blower motor is at fault. if you have high speed only, more than likely its a resistor fault. |
