I have a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer that I just bought a few months ago. I have 75k miles on it. Tonight I got in my TB and drove no more than a mile and my acceleration went to nothing. It would only idle. The Reduced Engine Power Light and SES came on. I pulled over and turned off the engine and restarted it. The Reduced Engine Power Light did not come on immediately but after I put it in drive it did and I lost power again. I have read a lot of post here but haven't found a concrete solution, but all the post are several years old. Has anyone found a definite solution to this problem?

The first thing to do is get the trouble code read-there are definite solutions to the problem. As more than one problem can cause the reduced engine power and SES to come on, no one can tell you which one will fix your problem without the diagnosis. One of the most common ones is to replace the accelerator pedal sensor/assembly, but one would be foolish to do so without the proper diagnosis, as it may not repair your problem.
