Thanks for the comment! I'm 6'2" and all running boards seem to do is dent my shins! Though my fiancee is 5'2" but she can pull herself in just fine (despite the frequent complaint!).

Re: Some new picts of the Vmax.....

I did the safe bet and went with Toyo's Open Country. They are noisy, but I can only guess what the pro comps sound like.

If I would put nerf bars on it before running boards.

If it was my truck, I think the next projects would be a bed cover, and a billet grill.

There would be minimal investment on their part, a small pair of rubber spacers for the front suspension, and a few dollar upgraed in tires(265-285)! Seems easy to me! But doing it aftermarket is pretty easy also!

BTW, what kind of tires are they, they dont look framiliar. Toyo's???
No kidding. GM really needs to build a true z-71 model. There is really no reason that they don't offer a real off road capable truck given the breadth of their lineup. Nissan's off road package has 285/70/17's from the factory with a minimum ground clearance of 10.5 inches, 11.5 for the rear along with a locking diff. This gives it the best approach and departure angles in its class. Not bad for a truck with IFS. Dodge has the Power Wagon which is what I like to refer to as a "real truck." Solid front axle and purpose built hardware.
The thing that irks me is that I think GM can do it better but they refuse to. Since they don't offer anything with a SFA maybe that is the reason they don't have a Power Wagon competitor? My main gripe with GM has always been the low ride height of their trucks. What has the truck world come to when we have to go to the aftermarket just to be able to take our trucks on a gravel road???

That being said that is a sharp truck! They look sooo much better with just a little extra clearance.

Since I am probably going to buy a new Sierra within the next year or so can you tell me where I can get this CCM kit? What does CCM stand for? I also have researched the Rancho mini lift and that looks good as well but I would like to know what your real world experience has been with this leveling kit.

Sure; eBay of all places for around $80. Solid kit (coilover spacers) that my friend and I installed in about 2 hours. The best part is that it does not mess with the handling or ride quality of the truck.

Take a look at gmfullsize.com. There's tons of info and install picts, etc over there. Good luck w/ your Sierra. They are sweet trucks!

You sure 275s = 33"? I run 285/70/17 on my Tahoe, and I think they come out to 32". I will double check, but nevertheless, your truck looks great, and I agree with all your points mentioned earlier regarding a "true" offroad package.

http://www.procomptires.com/conversionchart.htm

Sizes can and ususally do vary between different manufactures.

That's understandable but if not running boards you can always opt for nerf bars or something like that. Just a suggestion.
