New in the garage

I had been driving a 2004 Dodge SRT-4 for the last couple of years and I decided to get something a little more comfortable. My new ride is a 2006 Malibu Maxx SS. I've added a few new goodies and I have more planned for the car.http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/a...r407/bu154.jpg

Cool car dude! I'm not the biggest fan of black rims, but the rest of the mods work very well. THAT'S hauling the family in style!

Re: New in the garage

You need to put some tint on the windows to match the rims. Welcome to GMI.

Re: New in the garage

I was just thinking if you took the Chevy and the SS badges off, that car could be passed off as a SAAB.

Those SRT-4s are hella fun! One of my good friends had one. It was incredibly unrefined but just a blast to drive as fast as possible. Unfortunately it met its untimely death when he drove it through a deep puddle of water and the CAI sucked water through the turbo. Now he's driving a 2006 VW GTI. I'm curious as to what let you to the Maxx SS? Thats quite a change from a SRT-4.

I really loved the SRT! Mine was lightly modded and lowered. The car was pretty quick. The only thing I did not like was the ride especially with it lowered. I'm 54 almost 55 y/o and I wanted something a bit more refined, with less noise and a better ride. I still wanted something with some power and I have always liked cars that were a bit different. My first new car was a 74 AMC Gremlin X. I was looking on line one day and I saw the Maxx at a local dealer. I test drove the car and loved it. Good power, lots of torque and it handled pretty good too. Add that with all the options on the car and I was sold. I got a hell of deal on the car so bought it.

Thanks. I do plan on tinting the windows. I'm not to sure about the headlights and tails. I have ordered black housing headlights. The very first thing I did was paint the big gold bowtie in the grill black. The bowtie is molded into the grill. I was hopeing it was removeable but it's not. I would like to see if I can replace the center grill with plain mesh and put a SS emblem in the center. If I do more I will post some pics.

I got my black headlights last week and I removed the SS and Malibu Maxx emblems off the back. I relocated the SS to the bottom grill on the front. Here are a few pics. On to the tint!
