My (wife's) new G6
Due to an unfortunate accident involving my sister-in-law driving my wife's '04 Sentra, we found ourselves in the market for a new car last week. We looked at an Astra, HHR, Mazda5, Sonata, Malibu, Milan, and G6. We were nearly sold on the Milan, but I got my wife to go look at the G6 since we had already planned to do so. The Milan was better equipped with Sync, cruise, Remote Keyless Entry, and an iPod input for about the same price, but it couldn't touch OnStar and GM's 100,000 mile powertrain warranty.
![]() Our car is Blue Gold Crystal Metallic. It doesn't have cruise or remote keyless entry, but the dealer will be adding those Monday. Oddly enough, they only had 4 on the lot, 2 coupes and 2 convertibles. We were about to leave when the salesman, (Coach, they called him) went to look on the back of the lot. There was one sedan back there. We test drove it and he found one we wanted on a dealer lot not far away. We really like it, even my wife who is a domestic hater. I hope to have some pics of it soon. BTW, is it out of the ordinary for a dealer to install RKE and cruise control?

Re: My (wife's) new G6
Congrats. Its a great car for the $, and deserves some props. Its come along since inception in '05. I actually sold one today to my customers (and this is their 2nd G6) that they actually completely preferred over the new Malibu.
RKE and Cruise is no big deal to install, there is a 1SV package which sounds like you bought that doesnt include it, but good thinking getting installed through your dealer, as that will keep the warranty in tact. And just so you know, we've been sold out of 08 4 cylinder G6's for 2 weeks! |

Okay. Is the cruise that the dealer installs the same as factory cruise or is it a different system that mounts onto the steering wheel?

Congrats Slack. It's always nice to get new wheels, even if it is by association

Re: My (wife's) new G6
The Milan gets 20/28, our G6 I4 gets 22/30. For about the same price as we paid for the G6, we could have gotten the Milan with SYNC, which I think is pretty cool. My wife and I both agree that the Milan is an attractive car as well.
