Were you similarly refreshed when I got the SRX last year?

Well, the Grand am belongs to my father now. Still runs but I don't really miss it since my new GP surpasses it in every way.

Re: My new GP is finally home.

I am not one of those haters. I hated the Pontiac's 90's interiors but always liked the exteriors which still look fresh to me (there has been a red GP coupe in my neighbourhood and it still looks better than many new 'local' cars including the silly new Renault Laguna). Your GP has a huge advantage over previous Pontiac products, the lack of body cladding and the new interior which is driver-oriented (the next feature I like about GP). Honestly a perfect Pontiac sedan would be something between the new G8 and Your GP.
Enjoy Your car. Treat it well.

Re: My new GP is finally home.

Added some more photos. I didn't took the picture of the side cause it's a mess all thanx to the foul weather we had here in New Jersey. I guess my car's rims are not polished upon looking at it again, but to me, the rims aren't really that big a deal, so....

Enjoy.

First off, I had no idea you were Asian. I guess I'm not the only Asian on here!
And secondly, you look exactly like one of my cousins...oh wait...haha.
Awesome car!

Re: My new GP is finally home.

I know this is an old thread, but it's just been 7 months since I financed this car, and this is my evaluation of the last breed 08 Pontiac Grand Prix.

Things I love about the car:

-Has been trouble free, with no rattles, squeaks, or any problems.
-The leather seats that gets softer and more comfortable as I drive the car more and more and also, a snap to clean. A very comfortable and cushy for a long trip.
-Instrument clusters and controls. They are easy to reach, easy to use and does not require you to get your eyes off the road in order to use it. In other words, they are conveniently located so you can memorize the position of which controls are where while driving.
-Great gas mileage for the size of the engine. Last I checked, it was getting 17 city, and 29 highway according to the info monitor.
-Lots, and lots of storage that handle all of my junks. I carry all kinds of stuffs in my car, and even with them, I still have a lot of spaces extra.
-Effortless opening hood with struts design. Unlike my previous 99 Grandam, which had a thing that you have to hook on the hood in order to hold it, GP uses the struts so it holds it by itself, which is great. Same thing goes for its huge trunk, which I don't see a lot of cars on the road these days offer, the strut design, that does not intrude to the cargo area, hurting the luggage that my Grandam had, that also increases by a ten-fold when you fold down the rear seats.
-Wide opening rear doors, that really helps loading things to the back.
-Love the feel of the smooth, and slowly opening glove compartment door that is MISSING in my 99 Grandam.
-The Monsoon 9 speaker 6CD changer audio system is just amazing. At first, I didn't really care about this system, but once I drive more and more, and listen to it, it just feels incredible.
-I actually had someone drooling over the car while I was filling the tank once, which I have never expected. Love the styling still.
-Great acceleration from the stop, I know the engine only has 200HP, but I can feel that 200HP at full work from the stop everytime.
-Love the fold flat passenger seat that had served me great many times from me parked in the lot to have lunch in the car sometimes when I was on a business trip and on a get go.
-Love the heated seats, and the number of seat adjustments the car has.

Things I don't like about about the car:

Not much, but:
-I found the interior volume to be lacking for a car of this size. Especially the headroom. Must be because of the sunroof, but.... I am pretty short, but it's easy for me to bang my head on the roof when I'm not careful even with the seat adjustment set all the way down. Which wasn't the case with my old 99 Grandam.

-Also, the thick windshield pillar up front of the right passenger side kinda blocks the blindspot from an intersection, that forces me to take extra caution.

-The black paint. I know, I know, it maybe just a minor thing, but it really gets dirty easily, so that forces me to be less lazy on my busy schedule. :P I kinda expected that the color issue will be like that, but I still love my car no matter what. I've driven white car before, had a red one, so the black was my choice of the color and I love it.

Sorry for the bumping of an old thread, but I just wanted to update how much I am enjoying my new car. I can't wait to pay off everything for this car to really make it official that this car belongs to me. That's how much I love this car. Wanted for so long, finally got it, and it's giving me all I wanted and then some. It's a shame that GM had to kill this wonderful model in place of an import, which I know is a good car, but to me, lacks the North American trait and aggressive character that GP offers in style that isn't too boxy like G8 is.

Re: My new GP is finally home.

No worries about the bumping of threads. It is your original thread.

By the way, I own a 2004 Grand Prix GTP CompG which a fair number of members here drool over . I agree with you on the A-pillar. It definitely protrudes a bit more than I'm used to in other cars but the comfort and power more than make up for that.

Re: My new GP is finally home.

I always thought that the Grand Prix looked good (looks like a four-door GTO to me), and it's a ridiculous bargain with the current employee pricing and stuff. Now go tint your windows and put that big back seat to use!

Glad to hear an update and glad to hear your GP is still running strong. Always thought that was the best of the W-bodies. Here's to many more happy miles!
