My ferocious Ford Falcon G6E Turbo...

Here is the beast. I bought it new late last year. I drive it everyday and sofar it's clocked up almost 20,000 kms. Last year, my 3 year old boy was rapidly out growing my black BMW E90 325i. A large family car was unanimously called for. I test drove a number of large family sedans in the current market including the Holden Calais V V8, BMW 530i, Suburu Liberty GT, G6ET... All very nice cars with different merits and I came very close to picking the Calais V V8 but being a car nut I opted for the G6ET. I couldn't walk away from that jet engine paired up with the ZF 6-speed auto box.

The G6ET is really a performance sedan masquerading as a large 4 door family car but it also steers and turns really well and is well balance. It's an absolute fire cracker when on full/over boost and sounds abit like an F-18 taking off! Out of the box, Caradvice (http://www.caradvice.com.au/44132/20...car-comparison) clocked their G6ET at 4.97s for 0-100km sprint and 13.25s for the qtr. Not for the average mums and dads but definitely one for the motor anthusiasts to consider. I wish it came standard with LSD, bigger brakes/tyres and 4 or 5 link IRS from the factory...

Some vital powertrain stats:
Engine: 4L I6 DOHC single Garrett Turbo with transient overboost, rated 270kw@5250rpm, 533nm@2000-4750rpm
Trans: ZF 6-speed Auto with cylinder cut-out
Front Suspension: Forged aluminium double wishbone with twin virtual pivots
Rear Suspension: 4-link IRS

Here are some pics of the animal. Enjoy...

That's one very nice ride. Wish we had those in the U.S. Best of luck.

Lucky B******! Very nice.

Got any more engine bay pics? It looks like they did a very nice job keeping it tidy.

Hey I'm no engineer but thought it did have four links? (one upper, two lowers, and the longitudinal 'control blade')

Nice beast. Can't help but notice your license plate is all 8s.

I wonder how this would compare to a Taurus SHO. I think we all know which would win.

It's a standard "snow" white colour. I'm not engineer either but you could be right! Here is a pic of the IRS...BA_IRS2_lrg45.jpg

Can't help also noticing his 'covert' rear licence-plate frame lens

At a guess I'd imagine that very collectible 'all 8' plate might in itself be worth up to half the cost (at least) of the car!

DUCK here's another online test of your flying Falcon, in case you hadn't seen it.

Not real number plate btw. I've not seen that test. Interesting... They did not mention anything about the GE6T's unlockable fuel lid!

Re: My ferocious Ford Falcon G6E Turbo...

I notice you've got some knicks on the lifting eye. Been jump starting anyone lately?

Also, for comparison:

Hmm, bit hard to see with the intercooler on top

Re: My ferocious Ford Falcon G6E Turbo...

Very nice.

So does that hood deflector really do that much? I've been noticing a bunch of stone chips in the Taurus' hood lately, been considering one (as long as it's clear, as yours is).
