Re: MY 08 Malibu

I saw one of those the other day after hockey practice. I stared at it for a good 10 minutes before my friend almost smacked me with a hockey stick.
Congrats on the new Malibu!

Brutal Betty!

Nice man.. congrats on the new set of wheels. Question: The Aura comes in Carbon Flash, it is a metallic black with Flake and Saturn charges $95 for it. Is Black Granite Metallic the same? were you up charged?

I haven't seen a black one in person yet. I would really like to see what is special about it that they charge for it.

Re: MY 08 Malibu

Yes the up charge was $115 cdn. I only picked two options, paint and body color side mouldings for $145 cdn. There is a lot of Flake in this color. At times (when she's clean) it has the look of very dark grey.

Thumbs up Re: MY 08 Malibu

Well, it's 13 days today since I picked up my red LTZ beauty! I have to say that it is as nice or nicer than my 2005 Buick LaCrosse. I am very lucky to have this car because I still stick by my earlier statement here on GMI that the LTZ is in limited supply/numbers. Strings had to be pulled to get mine built!

This car has the same affect on me VISUALLY (that is the ONLY similarity- trust me) as my 1999 Chrysler 300M had on me when I got it in June of 1998. I can't stop staring at it as I walk away from it. It's not just the red jewel color, although that does help, but the striking lines/looks! I am also as self-conscious as I was with the 300M when I am at a traffic light and see people staring at the car out of the corner of my eye. I am "embarrassed" to look left or right. Of course, that could also be because people here in So. CT STILL have not seen any Malibus on the road yet in ANY color!

I have been so busy at work that I have not had time to post any thoughts about the car yet, but I will soon. In the meantime, take a gander at my pics in photobucket.

Re: MY 08 Malibu

Thanks for the feedback.. Its what makes these forums so much fun.

The car is a beauty. I agree..

The proportions are just very tight. Its styled so well. Its 252hp V6 and 6 speed transmission are right on the money...

Enjoy that new car...and keep us abreast of more insights as they come to you.

Its much appreciated.

JB

With the options that so many after market companies offer now, you'll probably be able to order one yourself and put it in. I have not checked that closely yet, but I think it's plastic and not real chrome.

Oh, and her name is Betty.
Congrats on your Malibu. I love the black, but it is so hard to keep clean in the winter.

Wow. The Malibu looks great in that color. I also love the LTZ grill, too. I've seen a few new Malibus here in central CT, but they all seem to be grey. The red really makes it stand out. You should take a ride up to central CT so I can see it! Congrats on your purchase.

Hi impala02-

Are you in the market for a new Malibu? Send me a private e-mail where you are in CT. I'm on vacation next week and could take a ride if you're serious. I know how SCARCE the Malibus still are no matter what people here say.
