Right now its Optra in Canada, India, was in Japan --- Lacetti in Korea, some parts of Europe, and Nubira (old name used in Korea) in other parts of Europe....all under the Chevy brand as essentially the same car (different engines, trim, but still...).

Its no wonder Toyota has worldwide name recognition for its Corolla, for instance.

Re: Ming's New Daily Driver (It's a GM car, but...)

congrats Ming, I have never been a fan of Lacetti, but the station wagon looks nice and actually there's nothing better in this price range. Hopefully it's replacement will be as stylish as WTCC concept and there will be one global name for it. If so, maybe even I who used to be a Daewoo basher, will buy one for daily use (Camaro will stay for weekends)
Enjoy Your ride.

Hope you enjoy it. Actually, I like the look of bras on cars, but they are far more hassle than worth in my opinion. You have to constantly remove them to clean debris out or it will attack your paint.

True. I'll see how it goes - if its a big hassle then I might retire it at a future date. It's amazing how much high speed road debris and bugs we get here in SE Texas, though, especially during "love bug" season.

All the parts are here if you really want them.

Congrats, Ming!!!

You'll have to let us know what your real world fuel economy is. I'd love to get an Optra Wagon (5-spd though) but the advertised f/e numbers seem a bit low for the car.

IMO most cars have a hard time pulling of looking good painted white but yours is really nice looking. Even the grey decal seems to suit it. The only thing on the car that doesn't fit would be the dealer badge on the hatch. Do your car a favour & break out your heat gun this weekend

So how hard is it to remove the steering wheel cover without the airbag deploying? (kidding)

I've also toyed with the idea of converting it into a Chinese Buick Excelle.

The strange thing would be taking it to a Suzuki dealer for warranty work and having to show them the VIN.

It went to badge heaven last evening. Simply peeled it off, no residue. Gone!

The Malibu Maxx was high on my list. Some reasons I didn't choose a new Maxx over a new Forenza Wagon:
  • No MP3 CD w/Aux-In, even on 2007 models
  • Paltry GM Card Redemption Allowance from my large total of GM card points
  • Couldn't swing the purchase price + TTL under 20K with the options I wanted - tried looking for the rumored 4-cylinder "fleet only" Maxx that was in dealer order brochures about a year ago, but it was like hunting a Unicorn.
  • A resentment against Chevy/GM for cancelling production of the Maxx, why should I reward them for killing the car?

Sorry for hijacking your new car thread with my Corvette mumblings, Ming.
Those wheels look awesome on the Corvette. I've seen them as an option on Chevy's website, but I've never seen one in person.

Nice car. Not really my cup of tea but it's cool for what it is. (I'm not really a fan of wagons and/or tiny cars.)

Nice Ming! I'll look for it when I'm out in the area, it should be easy to spot since it's one of about 2 I've ever seen sround here.

Time to get naughty and pull that bra off for some pics.

Very nice Ming! Yeah...Team Suzuki must be pretty new (since I haven't even heard of it). You should have a lot of fun in this particular model.

So I guess you are not looking for an Impala anymore because of this Suzuki, or what?
