Got another Mustang

Just bought a 91 Notchback a couple weeks ago to replace my 88 Hatch, I always wanted a Notch and could not pass up the deal on this one so I sold the Hatch. Its got a few things done to it and I already got some rear control arms and a couple other things that will be going in soon.

Its got a lot of potential. My first move would be to tint the windows.

Of those years of the Fox body Stangs, those are my favourite. I believe they were the lightest model and those 302s are lots of fun. Enjoy the new ride!

Re: Got another Mustang

Ill eventually get the windows tinted the back windows are already tinted, Yes the notchback are a couple hundred pounds lighter than a hatchback and have less weight over the rear wheels I think I am going to buy an aftermarket intake for it soon ( Cobra or Trickflow) The car already has gears, exhaust and a couple other things. The clutch is letting out pretty high too so its either nearing the ends of its life or needs some cable adjustment and probably wil get a King Cobra clutch put in within the year regardless.

I never was the biggest fan of the notchbacks, but it looks pretty good in your picture. Sounds like you already have some big plans... should be a great car when you're done with it! Can we get a front 3/4 shot? That's my favourite view of a car!

Re: Got another Mustang

I've had two of those (87-93 5-spd 5.0 Foxstang), and my best friend had two also.

Good memories.

I prefer notchbacks BY FAR. (I say this as ex-owner of a GT convertible and a GT hatchback.)

Still own a 5.0 at the moment, from the same era, but it's under the hood of a pickup.

Great taste, and great car. Are you planning to mod it? (pointless question... the question should be, how much and how soon?)

Out of curiosity, how much did you pay for it?

I have noticed that most people that own hatchbacks prefer the notch's but dont own one because they are so hard to find. I just bought a few things for it ( roller rockers, rear control arms, ignition ****, and underdrives ) for mods so far but I do plan on keeping it an everyday street car with ac and all that. I paid 2800 for it which is really low for a notchback around here it seems.

Re: Got another Mustang

Why are the notchbacks so hard to drive? Not enough weight in the rear end? I came across this problem with the Spirit in winter... as it was based on a sedan but with the last foot of the car lopped off, it was way to light in back to get traction. Makes for fun driving!

Re: Got another Mustang

Well I figured I would update this, Over the past few months I bought new rims ( cobra r's) lowered it with new rear control arms and camber plates, put in an aluminum driveshaft, cobra intake, 1.7 roller rockers, and full ignition
