Definitely the best color-combo on the Enclave. I am very jealous.

Re: The Enclave Has Landed

I finally saw one yesterday, the first one I have seen here. Stunning is the only word I can use to describe it. Luckly fellow, Zete. I wish you the best with it.

Thanks. And it is a head turner. Folks stop at the pumps to ask about it. Those that know come over to say how beautiful it is and that it truly looks like a Buick.

And teenagers simply adore the car! It is totally cool, up there with the Escalade and other Cadillacs. It's rather interesting to see the reaction from teens in and around the neighbourhood as well as my kids' friends.

Up to 500km on it after nearly 2 weeks. It drives wonderfully well. I notice the transmission is shifting much much better. I don't find it hunts at all, but I have felt the AWD kick in.

What continues to surprise me is how well it handles. The suspension is comfortable -- i.e., you won't damage your kidneys -- and yet it handles wonderfully when cornering. The other day I was going to a meeting and there was a colleague behind me in his car. He couldn't believe how well it cornered. He said he wouldn't have tried that in such a big vehicle but it felt fine. Poised and in control.

I'm actually happier with this vehicle than I was with my 04 CTS. The whole package just works. It's complete. GM did a great job. I hope this is the start of a wonderful trend at GM.

Isn't that funny? The Acadia garners attention as well, one couple even asked to see inside. The Lambdas get more attention that many of the more expensive and "sexier" cars I've ridden in.

I don't think it is funny at all. Both the Acadia and Enclave are beatiful vehicles that are actually useful for families. What a concept!

There is a software update to fix that......

Here is the letter you shopuld get at some point:

Dear General Motors Customer:

As the owner of a 2007-08 model year GMC Acadia; Saturn Outlook or 2008 Buick Enclave, your satisfaction is very important to us. This letter is to make you aware of an engine and transmission computer software update that is being made available to you for improved performance.

Your vehicle is equipped with a state-of-the-art 6-speed automatic transmission which utilizes the latest computer technology to control shift performance and allow for easy software updates.

The update that is being made available to you is voluntary and enhances shifting performance. That means you should expect smoother, more responsive shifts with this software update. The update requires no hardware changes and is NO cost to you.

After the software update is performed, your vehicle may take a couple of weeks to re-learn your driving habits. During this time your fuel economy may vary from what you previously experienced.

Important: It is not necessary to take your vehicle to your dealer as a result of this letter unless you desire to take advantage of the software update. If you choose to do so, we recommend that you contact your dealer to schedule an appointment and confirm the time required to process your vehicle in their service department.

I had that done right before our trip a few weeks ago. It's MUCH better at lower speeds and in the city, but it still downshifts from 6th to 4th on most any incline on the highway, including overpasses. The fuel economy went all to hell as well. Back in May we got as good as 24mpg. going to Wyoming and Colorado, but we barely got over 20mpg. on our trip to Missouri. It was just driven to Dallas and back last week and only managed 21mpg.

Re: The Enclave Has Landed

That is an awesome ride Zete. I'm glad the only major thing GM changed from concept to production was the wheel size. It looks awesome. When I had my car in the shop the other day, I was walking around the lot and they had an Enclave in white and it looked amazing. Everytime they get one in, it's gone within a week or two.

Oh, good. My G-ma has an Acadia and had it in the other day for its first service. It says 19.9 on the avg mpg.

Anyway, forgot to tell you how nice that car is Zete, good job on picking it!

Re: The Enclave Has Landed

I had my Toyota loving inlaws over yesterday and they asked to look at the Enclave. They were speechless. It was priceless to watch them stare at the car. All they could muster initially was "it's very nice". They did find it large, but I pointed it out's about the same size as their Sienna. They said it looks bigger and I said it just looks more impressive.

They couldn't believe the inside. They kept touching the dash and looking at it for a few minutes and asked if it was an upgrade. I pointed out the dash is the same for base model or top end. I'm sure when the piled into their Sienna, which is about the same price as a base Enclave, they're wondered if their money was well spent.

They can't keep them in stock at my dealership. Everyone who wants one has to order one. And we just love the car. It's such a pleasure to drive. GM has obviously hit a home run with this car. It just commands the road and has a presence not seen in a Buick for decades.

And thanks to everyone for the nice comments.

I'm late to the party, but all I can say is:

GM seriously is back on track, just look at the Enclave, it looks amazing and upscale, it has a really nice interior and makes import owners jealous.

Enclave has definitely been a big hit! No Enclave's have sat on the lot yet at my local dealer; they're ALL already sold. That's impressive! Just imagine what's going to happen when Buick gets it's act together with it's whole lineup. Like I said; all Buick needed was good product. There's lots of potential there, and it's being realized with product like the Enclave.

Amen to that. Put those Enclave lines on a couple of sedans and a baby Enclave and add a new Riviera, ala the concept, and folks at Lexus will be crying the blues.

Re: The Enclave Has Landed

If they made a Sedan which looked like the Enclave it would look AMAZING.

Maybe I should photoshop something up.
