Who's playing, what?

So if I were to say ............... I SPEND 75% of my income even though I have no housing expense, that would be good!?

Assuming the remaining 25% then split into, long-term, short-term and retirement savings three-ways 8.33% each, you are not saving nearly enough for retirement or a house down-payment.

If you truly are a "$50,000 millionaire" then saving 25% or $12,500 a year (divided by 12 months) is just over a $1,000 a month, far too much for one your age to be saving, especially one who has no property: rent, utilities, maintenance or taxes to contend with, better buy something else before your parents figure this out and start charging you ............

If you're over the age of 25, spending that much money on cars and still living at home, you're doing it wrong. Yeah, we're all 'jealous'. This place is fantastic for filling my comedy quota for the day.
If the guy has enough money, then why shouldn't he go ahead and buy two cars? He wanted a Corvette and needed a Grand Cherokee, and he obviously makes enough and saved up enough to buy both, so why shouldn't he? He's ready for the future and is financially stable.
I'm pretty sure that 90% of the things you post on this site consists of you attacking other members for their decisions or their opinions. As if that isn't immature. I'd expect conduct like that from a 10 year old.

Not only that but the guy actually thinks he is "educating" us poor masses.

What I want to know is what do you care?

Also I can only imagine what you are going to say in 5 years when I buy the house from my parents for a song.

The average American saves less than 1% of their income, and you are getting mad at me because I save 25%, buy expensive things and live at home. Ridiculous.

Just FWIW, if I were you, at this point in time, I wouldn't be comfortable relying on a decent income linked to Detroit's automotive industry without a really, really huge rainy day fund...

But of course it's only me. You probably don't see it the same way. I can't blame you for wanting to enjoy the present day.

Surprisingly things here are not as bad as you read in the papers, but only if you are young.

My one buddy lost his job, but has a crap load of interviews in the next few weeks. He should have jumped ship months ago as he knew his division was going away (he decided to stay there and just suck out as much money as he could before taking a "vacation" for a month of two).

My company is hiring more people right now. Go figure.

Re: Duspinnst's Grand Cherokee

I've been busy with the Jeep.

I tossed on Fog Lamps ($26 per Fog Lamp Housing, $25 for Fog Lamp Switch, $14 for a Relay, $4 for bolts), added Remote Start (Free Ignition, Keys, Antenna from work, $15 for the Hood Switch, $14 for the Hood Switch Bracket, $2 for bolts). Got the iPod Integration with UConnect/Bluetooth (Both MOPAR kits costing a total of $260). Also added DRL's by reprogramming the TIPM with my laptop. So for $386 I pretty much got all the stuff I wanted on it that I didn't get from the factory.
