Re: Duspinnst's Grand Cherokee

It's good to see that you stayed Domestic with your choice. Needs interior pictures, and a comparison to the 'Vette.

Since Chrysler is a customer of mine and I spend a lot of time at Chrysler facilities, I thought I should drive a Chrysler product. The real motivation is not having to walk an extra 1/2 mile to my car (Chrysler makes competitive vehicles park out in the boonies). In the summer with the Corvette, I deal with that. But in the Winter it would BLOW.

Mopar does offer a UConnect Kit for $240, so for $280 (self-installed) I can get iPod thru the radio. Pretty sure I'll do that, as for 3 years of Winters I'll need the iPod option.

The second is Remote Start. All I need is the Hood Switch and Hood Switch Bracket, the harness is already there. The rest of the stuff for it I can get at work. I don't know the cost of the Switch and Bracket.
You're kidding. Remote start (key fob) came with my lowly $30,000 Impala.

Remote Start comes on every Grand Cherokee except the VERY BASE model. Had I got the "Popular Equipment Package" I would have gotten it. They don't even change the wiring harness to eliminate the wire for the hood switch.

BTW none of the 2008.75 Challengers have Remote Start, the 2009's do however, and those cost $40k.

Re: Duspinnst's Grand Cherokee

Very nice, I like it in Black!

I think you may just have a bit of a door ding in your wheel arch (look straight up from the center of your front wheel)

If you can get the wheel well liner off easily, you can just get up behind the ding rub it out with the handle of a screwdriver That's how I get rid of mine!
