Do you know the OPEL Astra Coupe?

Hi there!

I'm Siggi and writing you from Germany, the home of GM Europe and OPEL.
I found this page while searching for pics of the 2008 VW Corrado... and now I'm here and read through this fantastic board.

My car is an 2001 Opel Astra Coupe, only 80000 of them were built at Bertone in Italy. I would like to know if you know that car and what is your opinion about it?

Don't worry about the australian Holden badges - I like them more than the Opel badges

I think that's a very attractive car Siggi! Totally my kinda car! Do you have any interior pictures? Many of us don't know what that car looks like inside. You obviously take very good care of your car... it's spotless! My favourite picture is the 3rd one you posted... showing the right rear... great rims too! Oh, and it looks like you had the perfect road to drive it on. Hope to see you posting lots on GMi!

The rims are OZ Hydra. Very simple but quite stylish, I think

Some interior pictures:

And this is the very first picture of my Coupe in 2003:

Since that day, I've changed so much... front bumper, rims, suspension, antenna, badges...

The engine of the car is a Z22SE with 110kw (147bhp). Maximum speed is 135mph. This engine should be known in the United States. It was built by GM and I've heard that some cars in the USA drive around with it.

This is a picture of an Astra Coupe meeting in Bochum. It's quite hard to find together because only a few people in my area drive that car.

If you have questions, feel free to ask!

What's interesting is that in 2001, when you could buy that, we were sitting here in North America with the Cavalier coupe! I don't mind it as much as some, but based on looks yours sure takes the cake! The interior is very well thought-out and tidy. Thanks again man!

no kidding, even Mexico could buy the Astra. I mean I have a certain place in my heart for the Sunfire, but compare it to the Astra, it's like night and day.

it's already history guys, there's no Cavalier and Astra Coupe anymore
Now You should concentrate on getting all the new Opel line-up (as Saturn of course)

Re: Do you know the OPEL Astra Coupe?

Einfach klassisch, ein vollrechtiges Nachfolger des Calibras (Ihr nennt sie "der Calibra", oder?). Schade Opel ersatzte er/sie nicht mit ein echtes Coupe.

I usually don't like people meddling with their cars, but I'd go for the Holden bonnet myself, and the wheels surely do go well with the car

The Coupe is one thing, but the Cavalier sedan was a much better styling effort than the Astra B sedan:
