I did get a B-body of my own a year later though.

I had to replace the radiator on it as well. She now needs a front-end rebuild, a rear-end rebuild, etc., etc., etc. I had big plans for her when I got her, but I may have to sell her soon.

I wondered how my Roadmaster would look with blackwalls, as the 2357015 in a whitewall is getting hard to find!!!!

I want whitewalls soooo bad, but I've been waiting for these Michelins to to wear out, which they are now. If I buy new tires I'll be getting Yokohama AVID Tourings, about the only whitewall left. To me these cars need whitewalls and it's crazy for these tire companies to completely abandon the whitewall market.

My RM has Arizonian Silver somethings which GMI sponsor Discount tire sells, so I'll reserve my opinion as to how they are...

Republic Tire...which is a Goodyear generic brand also has the whitewall in that size...

Well that's definitely bad mileage compared to my current daily driver. 49 mpg highway (official revised EPA figure) but I always get slightly better mileage than that (easily over 50).

The city difference is probably even greater.

Basically, I would multiply what I spend on gas by over two if I replaced my car with a late B-body. The difference in comfort isn't worth it... especially at ~$5 a gallon (that's the prices these days here).

Still, it's a very nice car and if I could get a diesel-powered one I would certainly be all over it.

My daily commuter gets around 45mpg (almost exactly) and oddly enough the wagon gets almost the same as GMC Sonomas '93 @22MPG...when I'm driving. The wife gets 25 but I'm not sure how

I had a squeaking noise, and then a clunking noise. I lifted the car up and found one the torsion bar bolts was broke. Time for the front end rebuild.

Re: darndot's 92 Caprice Wagon (New Photo 8/12/08)

The car pulls to the right since I have had it. A shop (that I trust) told me a few months ago that they couldn't align it. Everything was just out of specs. I am thinking about shorter springs, new shocks and new rubber parts. I have do a rebuild before I can put new tires on it anyway, and I might as well do it all in the next few weeks.

Re: darndot's 92 Caprice Wagon (New Photo 8/12/08)

Great looking wagon...then again I loved the 91/92 Caprice even though it got called "bloated" and "cetacean" by auto mag writers. But I have always been fond of covered wheel wells.

I need to do a suspension rebuild on the 'Massa. I want to use all Moog rubber and Bilstein HDs, but I don't know which springs to get. I want the nice balance of the original FE2, but I know you can't get OEM springs anymore. I might get Eibachs.
