98 Sonoma X-cab

Thought I'd show some updated pics of my Sonoma. I'll get my Sierra cleaned up and get some of it too.

Thanks. It wasn't a ZQ8, as a matter of fact:

Pretty ugly when I got it. Anyway, I put on ZQ8 Swaybars front and rear, and went with a 3" Belltech suspension kit which is coil springs up front and mono leafs out back, with Nitro shocks on the corners. Then used a 1" block on the rear axle to level it out because the ass sat up a little too much after my wheels went on. The rear tires are about 2" taller than the front, so that brought it down to where I like it, which is just slightly higher in the rear. So all in all, I changed the grill, headlights, mirrors, cut down the antenna, tinted windows of course, took off all the emblems and nasty brown pistripes around the bottom of the truck, line x bedliner, rear steel roll pan, 20X9 Iroc wheels, and flowmaster 40 series exhaust (4cyl.........for now). About a year ago my brother in law rear ended me, so while they were fixing that I had them repaint it. However since I drive 25 miles to work mostly interstate hwy, there are already a bunch of little rocks chips on the hood.

On the inside Ive got the electroluminescent gauges, more for the white face during the day, but I do like the blue/green glow at night.

Then I threw in a pioneer headunit, pioneer 6.5's and 4x6's, 1 Soundstream 15" sub in a generic enclosure, but mounted on a custom leather covered platform, all run off of a 5 channel soundstream amp. Have XM also but mostly use my Zune through a custom mounted aux input jack in my center console.

I eventually want to redo the seats in leather, probably replace the carpet (its not dirty or holey, but the fibers are kinda matted down) replace some dash trim pieces that are getting brittle from the sun, and one day do a V8 conversion.

Yes they are, and hard to keep that way. Much easier than polished aluminum though. Here's a tip. For polishing chrome wheels, instead of a rag use an old sock and pull it over your hand, that way your not holding anything, and your hand/fingers can fit into places a big wad of rag cant. Plus when it gets dirty you can spin it around, then fold the top back down over you hand (if its a long tube sock) for even more clean surfaces.

Shadams, that is a pretty truck. You know I'm not a big fan of "slammed" trucks, but yours is nice. You've done ALOT of work on her and deserve props for your accomplishment!!

Thanks!! I just cant leave them be. So seeing as how I also have a 4wd Sierra (ok ok, its my wifes -hehe) I really have the best of both worlds.

PS - Notice how it says edit under your last post, well I'm still getting used to this mod thing and in my screen there is a edit button where the quote button used to be and I added all this to your post instead of creating my own by accident. Sorry -

How does the 40 series sound on a 4-cylinder?

Well, its kinda hard to put into words, but it sounds good to me, and I abhor the sound of civic's with fart cans on them. It's a very low tone.

I always thought that GM's 4-cylinders are just 8s with 4 cylinders chopped off. I'm probably going to get a custom exhaust from the cat back put on the Alero to get a nice sound. It already makes a pretty good sound with the stock muffler and pipes.

And again, shadams, truck looks great .

Nice truck! I hear ya about the v8 swap on the 2.2. Sometimes I wanna get out and walk. I would suggest an Envoy bumper cover. think that would look sweet on there.
