Re: '58 Belvedere: The Anti-Corolla

I bought a 1957 Belvedere as my first car in 1971 here in Tampa...blue and white. I hippiefied the inside and out and left home for Albuquerque in 1972...ran like a top except for a brief overheating in the New Mexico desert. I was bummed to learn that the guy I sold it to ran it off a cliff though in perfect working order JUST to see a movie-style car crash! It's name was "Blooh".

To be honest, I thought this thread was going to have something to do with Christine eating some Bamboo

Glad to hear you've been driving it lately, you're lucky to have such a cool car! You've gotta take some more pictures of it though

and I just opened up the secondaries in the Chevelle on the street for the first time last weekend, I didn't expect them to open! haha but boy it was great. Can't imagine what quads would be like.

Re: '58 Belvedere: The Anti-Corolla

Thanks for the photos and story. It is good to hear that you are being careful, but are also actually driving the Plymouth. As long as any big car from the 50s, 60s, or 70s is in good shape and warmed up, I doubt that any harm would come from WOT acceleration, especially if the car is already moving.

On my 1931 I used to use regular gas but for the last 3 years I only use 93 premium on the 76 year old Stovebolt GM straight-6

Oh yeah, you can't not drive these cars. They get cruddy if you let them sit. That's why I don't understand trailer queens. Don't the mechanicals go to heck if you just keep the car stationary all the time? When I take the car out, I make sure I turn everything on--lights, heater, sound the horn, use all the gears---just to make sure everything gets exercised.

Well, in his case, the skirt would match his hairstyle.

However, isn't he 15? What's he doing driving in the first place?

Re: '58 Belvedere: The Anti-Corolla

Hardship lisence, drivers permit (with 18+ year old), and private roads all make this legally possible. Plus its not like you guys have ever, not driven underaged at some point in your life.
