#2: Costs and weight. It's not like fuel economy, where you can simply load up a given fuel map to 'ace' a certain region's fuel economy tests. More metal = more weight = more cost. I do agree though, a equal safety standards do make sense.

Great review, by the way! Hopefully they'll reincarnate the G8 as something under the bowtie banner when it comes time to replace my car.

Still doesn't answer the question, though. Why not have one and push that as proof you care about the citizens of a given country even if the country's masters don't?
