My Tata Nano LX costed me INR Rs. 186,000 inclusive of all taxes.

Fiat 500 lounge costed me Rs. 1,543,000 with all taxes including 103 % import duty.

Hi Again Indica:

While I do like your Nano, the FIAT 500 definitely is fancier. Now with FIAT merged with Chrysler I am looking forward to the import of some smaller FIATS under the Chrysler Brand.

What has your reliability experience been with the FIAT? I remember the Brand as not really reliable many years ago!

The 500 makes the nano look dull and uninspiring and I'm sure the nano drives like that as well, while the 500 drives in a fun and agile manner

Wow. The sills on the 500 are so small they can only get half the number on there!

So the Nano LX was 3,879.84 USD (4,240.86 CAD) and the 500 was 32,186.00 USD (35,180.90 CAD). A difference of 28,306.16 USD (30,940.04 CAD). Wow.

I love that 500!!!!

I can't wait to see them on US streets!!!! They are all over the place in Europe. I'm excited to get to sit in one and perhaps drive one.

Re: 2009 Tata Nano and 2008 Fiat 500

The Fiat definitely has more flair, red will do that. However the Nano's price will make it a game-changer, particularly in emerging markets. I hope it does well. I hope to see lots of the Fiat's on Canadian streets too. Smart(?) cars have had their way too long.

dang I knew it was going to be a lot but not that much. That 100-some percent import duty doesn't help though

204,000 cars booked, delivery schedule is till fall 2010 due to limited production constraints and until a new factory comes up by june next year, about 3000 nanos are delivered each month.
