Nice, how high is your garage?

I'd like to get a lift in mine but I think it is too low.

I know that we raised it 18", I'll check it out for you tomorrow. It's really a pain in the ass and if it had a sleeker rear-end (aka: not the steep rear window) it probably wouldn't have fitted.

I think it is fantastic to see a young man follow through with his dream and goals. When I looked at the "Wreck" befor this work started I just shook my head...

Good for You rmodys...I tip my hat to you.
You are a fine young man and it is nice to see you have parents that support your decisions, goals, dreams.

Re: 1986 Monte Carlo Progress (Updated July 20th)

Some progress from during the week, got the dashboard, headliner, and opera windows in.

And this is what the seats look like, dunno if I've posted them here before.

And the dash only looks dirty, it's not.

Re: 1986 Monte Carlo Progress (Updated July 27th)

What is the Fan for? To dry out glue? Or is it just hot outside working on the car?

It really is taking form isn't it...?

Re: 1986 Monte Carlo Progress (Updated July 27th)

Some stuff from today and yesterday:

Got the sail panels and rear seatbelts in. Yeah, we figured out that the wire for the courtesy lighting goes up in the headliner and not below. Whoops

Gauge cluster is (kind of) installed:

Trunk weatherstripping installed:

Got the door handles, notice the difference between new and old

Tape is the key to not scratching it, haha

Re: 1986 Monte Carlo Progress (Updated July 27th)

Are you combing junk yards for all of your parts, or is there someplace online I can look? I need stuff like a power window switch (not the internals, juts the chrome part), caps for the ends of the inside door pulls, center caps for the rims, and new SS decals for after I get the car painted. Help?

Well, the "help" section of like an Advanced Auto Parts will have the chrome part, Mike's Montes (www.mikesmontes.com) carries pretty much everything else that you could possibly need, including those window switches.

Uhh, Phoenix Graphics makes a kit for our cars too in every colour that they came with from the factory.

So the Help section for you window switches, Mike's Montes for the rest.

Re: 1986 Monte Carlo Progress (Updated July 27th)

Here's the motor:

Should be making 295 horsepower at around 4000 RPM and 340 ft-lb of torque at 3500 RPM.
