Want to see your house from space............

http://terraserver.microsoft.com/default.aspx

Enter your address, state, etc and you can see an aerial image of your house. It's really cool to see what your house looks like from above.

The pictures are taken from a satellight in space.

That picture was taken in 1998, just when my dad's house was being built (red dot). Now that I look at it, most of the houses that are here now weren't even built in 1998! Currently my neighborhood is filled in to the max, there is no lots available that I know of.

Re: Want to see your house from space............

Heh heh... That's pretty cool

Top row... 3rd house from the left...
The photo was taken February 2004. The houses in teh area were completed maybe 5 months prior, so these are new. many of the backyards are now landscaped. Mine's being done right now. It's too danm expensive to do the backyard.

And this is the view from the master bedroom on the top floor.

Ehh, mine came out a little messed up:

The Blue Dot is where I was supposed to be, I also added some street names to make it clearer.

I have been using GLOBEXPLORER.COM for years, but it has thier stupid logo all over the picture, it is a bit clearer though.

Re: Want to see your house from space............

My city has something like that. At the municipal site it asks if you want either a map or an aerial survey photo. You can get the lot # grid on the photo as well which is really helpful

That's what I first used, but like you said, they have their logo all over the image.

Edit: This is my (mom's) house, the first picture I posted was my dad's house.

I'm moving back with my mom on Sunday, I'm so excited.

Home sweet home.

Here is a newer, colored pic.

Yeah, that is better:

Mine is the third one down, Black Roof. Looks like I wasn't home at the time. Wow that's an old pic, I didn't even have a fence at that time...lol

Re: Want to see your house from space............

It won't show Canadian places. I can find the general location of my house but it won't show anything specific. That kinda sucks.

Re: Want to see your house from space............

OK. What does everyone have trees and green grass around their homes???
I get brown, dried out hills and a dirt back yard.

Sounds kinda like my old house... except the front yard was 100% moss, and the back had some green (all moss) and mostly dirt... where I live now has trees and grass

My current house... though the little marker on there (donno why) is over my neighbors house... My house is across the street on the left...

My old house... Right smack dab in the middle, you can barely see it because of all the shadows from the trees... the one w/ the red roof on the inside of the bend... (And on the far right top, the grey roofed one... that's where I lived until I was 5)

Re: Want to see your house from space............

I always wondered why the heck my old company painted the corporate logo on top of their building... and now I know why... so satellites to take a photo of it.

I remember when we had Eddie Cheever and his car parked on that red @ symbol on the front lawn. I'll have to find my old photos and his autographed photo. He's a very nice guy.
