When you attempt to get out of a running car while it's in gear and/or the brake isn't set, the doors should automatically lock (whether you have power locks or not) and you should get a warning message that goes something like this; "Excuse me carbon based life form, not to insult your intelligence, but do you really want to relinquish control of this vehicle without first assuring that it's incapable of moving unless someone is at the controls?"
Sorry, that was for the Mensa crowd.

How about a cutoff switch like on my riding mower for us dummies?
Ha thatd just be a pain in the ass. Sometimes Hoey has to open his door when backing up..if his door didnt open..hed be pissed.

Then again..Hoey wouldnt wreck his car so foolishly, and he wouldnt drive a Yaris.

Point taken, my friend.

Hopefully the majority of people would never know that it was there. And having my car talk to me like that would be oddly nostalgic, even if I don't actually miss my ex-wife.

Long, long time ago, I used to wonder how the trailing edge of front fenders got crunched up. It seems that when some people back up using this method, they don't hit anything with their car because of their diligent attention to the task at hand. Unfortunately however, they have a tendency to forget that the door is attached to the car, and it is also sticking out quite a bit farther than the rest of the vehicle.

No, I have never done this. I promise. But my son has. (takes after his mom)

You right, I don't know exactly what happend other than what I saw. Guy was a stuipd idiot. Owing a Yaris just makes it funnier....

That better?
