GM builds the identical minivan for all 4 divisions.

Then this is how they decide what brand the CSV will be when it is completed.

As the CSV reaches near the end of the assembly line, GM's selected employee of the day spins the Twister spinner at random

Red = Pontiac
Yellow = Saturn
Blue = Chevrolet
Green = Buick

When the spinner lands, they contact the wheel & grill department.

You would of thought they could of at least done something different with the hood and the bumpers. The twister idea is sad but true.

never realised this b4 but the hoods look awfully volvo-sih...like skuare cut and boxy....*shrug* just seems tht way. anyway...yeah...that twister pls probably is true.....mind you the bean counter at GM might not want to spring for the extra expense of buying a twister board AND spinner...they'll probably just get the spinner...

You guys are completely right about the CSV's (LUNV's). GM should keep the hot-selling Venture and Pontiac Montana until the Lambda-bodies come out. Heck, let's just put the 3.4 in everything.

That had me laughing for 15 seconds straight. :lol: :lol: :lol:

It would be even worse if they were the same color. Notice GM purposely chose different colors than the standard New Introduction Silver so the CSVs would look even more "different".

I just hope I made my point, before everybody badmouths these things off the planet. I'm not sure just how badly Saturn dealerships need this, but Buick dealerships can definitely use it, Chevy is sobbing for it, and Pontiac's is pretty sharp.

As I posted before, the CSV's (LUNV's in Ghrankenghuage) address the primary shortcomings of the AMV's (Actual Mini-Vans) on which they are based. Chevrolet lot space devoted to "Where the Ventures Go to Die" can now be devoted to something with the features to actually sell. I'd rather sell Cobalts, Aveos, Equinoxen, and a LUNV; than Cavaliers, Blazers, Trackers, and the Swankest Minivan this side of Mount Rushmore.

And Ming, that 3.4 jab was directed sqarely at you. If I'm ever elected President, I'm going to appoint you as head inspector to Iraq, to make sure they aren't secretly manufacturing 3400's, and if so, to make sure they aren't secretly de-tuning them. :drevil:

Darn that 3.4 just WONT DIE! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Clinton must've brokered a deal with them, nuclear trade secrets if they will just make an outdated 3.4L for GM on the cheap!

And don't forget my interior photo comparisons, as Mr. Pringle mentioned!

Honestly, though, the only reason I can see GM dealerships clamoring for new GM minivans is so they can have something to sell to the Enterprise or Alamo rental fleet across the street.

De-tuning? I meant to say "improving their emissions."

And when you think about it, Ming, that 3400 really is inferior to the 4-cylinder competitors that it's priced against, what with its better power, reliability, and economy, right? (MC, Impala, Equinox) If that weren't enough, the modern 3.4L engines from Toyota and Mitsubishi, with their extra valves, cams, and power (185-190 hp) really do carry a huge advantage, and that's what it's all about.

Sorry Ming. I'm just bitter that you took away that Cylon.

Ghrank, you know my gripe. Most of the other cars that had a 3.4L are getting GM's own new and improved version, the 3500. The all new Equinox getting stuck in a time warp just so they can get a cheaper, older version of the engine from China is what bothers me, in particular when GM goes out of its way to tell us how the 3.5L is more reliable!

"Yes, I'd prefer the (according to your own literature) LESS reliable 3.4L older version for 1000 dollars less, GM, so you can meet your price point!" :woot2:

I'm hoping that Sci Fi will announce new series episodes of Battlestar Galactice -- I guess I should go out on some boards and see what rumors if any there are of it. Then I'll bring my Cylon back.

Freaking hilarious! GM must have done some in-house cleaning and dusted off their old cookie cutter sets... :woot2:
