Rex:

Actually, wasn't that picture taken in Europe (from the car in the background)? That would make it an MX5, because they don't call the car a Miata in Europe.

I'm not so sure, considering the fac t that he noticed it, if in fact it is from europe the MX-5 would be the correct answer as it would not be possible for it to be a Miata. Either way it's a ****ty car that's been done away with.

The names Miata and MX-5 are interchangeable.
The cars are IDENTICAL.

Even more so than the like SV6, Terraza, Relay and Uplander.

The cars are, for the most part, identical. But the Mazda Roadster is sold in Japan, the Miata (or MX5 Miata) in the US, and the MX5 in Europe. It's just the name on the car. They sell the "Chevrolet Sunfire" in South America as well as the Chevorlet Omega and Vectra...and don't forget the Buick Sail, which is also known as the Opel Corsa or Chevrolet Joy in different parts of the world.

Having unnecessarily ranted...I have just one more (very friendly) point to make...

"...a little trivial, don't you think?"

Wasn't the point of this thread TRIVIA?

You guys are going on and on as if Rex said that Hudson was wrong. He didn't even say who was right. Hell, I even said that Hudson beat me to it, knowing that the MX-5 and the Miata were the same. The Mazda USA site calls it the "MX-5 Miata". Everyone is a winner.

By the way, I like this game.

Just to freak you out further, up here in Canada, it's called the MX-5 miata.

Ooooooooo, scarey. Like I said, the Mazda USA website lists it as exactly that, the MX-5 Miata. Canada and the US have it right. MX-5... lazy Europeans. :rudolph:
