Re: Modern GM Cars & Trucks in Movies

There was also either a Suburban or Tahoe in Bad Boys 2. I'm pretty sure it was a suburban.

Re: Modern GM Cars & Trucks in Movies

Now I remember - in one of the scenes towards the end of Erin Brokovich, Erin receives "a parcel" from a delivery guy and the parcel turns out to be a Chevrolet Blazer! I am almost 99% sure it was a Blazer, though I can't prove it as IMCDB somehow didn't feature this scene (surprisingly, as it was the second most important car scene in the movie).

Another one - Woody Allen and his "wife" drive a Saab 900 NG in Mighty Aphrodite. Many important conversations happen in that car!

as far as a movie for the "hero" being a GM the most recognized has to be smokey and the bandit.

Re: Modern GM Cars & Trucks in Movies

The 1999 Pontiac Grand Am was prominently featured in Lethal Weapon 4 and the Pontiac Bonneville GXP was in at least a couple episodes of the Sopranos. The Oldsmobile Intrigue was also in the X-Files.

Re: Modern GM Cars & Trucks in Movies

Big Olds' seem to be the standard rental/gov't fleet cars in the movies - I now remember that in the movie "Michael", Andie McDowell went to get the eponymous angel in and Olds 88, IIRC (it was partially a road movie, so the car played an important role).

I was just thinking, its kinda funny in "Stealth" the new GTO must be a classic car, due to the fact that it takes place in the future...

Re: Modern GM Cars & Trucks in Movies

If I remember correctly, isn't the police car in V for Vandetta all GTO's ? Pretty funny they have a pontiac badge in UK, but whatever, guess the producers forgot about that detail.

Also there is a movie with an Impala racing scene in it (normal one, not police version) it's supposed to be in Montreal or something, can't remember the darn name. If I can find it out I'll post it.

In "A History of Violence" he had a mid 90's Chev Silverado, plus there was an 05 Esclade in it as well.

Re: Modern GM Cars & Trucks in Movies

Yesterday I saw some bits of a "documentary" on Discovery about an allegedly clairvoyant woman (this used to be a science channel...) and she had a Chevrolet Impala COLOR-CODED with her outfits!

horatio in CSI: Miami drives an H2.

and this might be a stretch, but from wkipedia:

"Later versions of the famed Batmobile would be built off the stretched-out platforms of other cars, such as the Chevrolet Caprice and Buick Riviera. This style was used in the two Batman films directed by Tim Burton."

and thatd be Batman and Batman Returns
