Man buried in his pristine 1973 Pontiac Catalina

It may seem like a strange way to be buried but a 90-year-old North Carolina man was buried in his car with his hunting guns in the trunk, and a $100 bill in his pocket.

Lonnie Holloway loved his 1973 Catalina so much so that when it was his turn to enter the pearly gates he wanted to drive through in style, according to WLTX TV.

This is what Mr. Holloway wanted," said the pastor conducting the graveside service.

"Amen," responded the attendees.

Friends also placed his guns in the trunk of the green 73 Catalina because they said that he didn't want them getting into the wrong hands.

Let's hope his dog doesn't take too much of a liking to the house.

He certainly kept that car looking nice. I wonder what happens, though, when a house is left to a dog? A relative probably adopts the dog and acts "in loco" beneficiary.

Somebody should have told the guy that burying a car won't keep it pristine

I hope all the lubes & coolant was drained from the car, otherwise it's creating an in-ground hazmat situation, as it doesn't look like that car was being put into a concrete vault.

I go with the premise...you can't take it with you

Another video shows them taking off the tires right before it was lowered, so it seems that there was an environmental concern present.
