Re: Happy New Year !!

Happy New Year, everyone. We cut our night out early due to our little one needing a good night's sleep and my wife having to work at 8:00 am tomorrow.

I hope 2008 is a good year for everyone here at GMI and of course GM.

Re: Happy New Year !!

I was out at the Arena in Ann Arbor last night and I had a doozy of a time.

We met at a buddies (call him J) on State and Fuller and his brother was already drunk and high by 9 pm. I was starving so me and three of my buddies (we will call them K, A, and B) all leave to go into town. The plan was to go to the Arena and grab some grub wait for J and his fiancé P. On the way there I realize A is already drunk, which is interesting, but at this point uneventful.

We get to the Arena, A is like, I need to go talk to some chicks. So he gets up and starts chatting with some girls over at a table, they basically blow him off after 10 minutes (in a nice way). So distraught he heads to the bathroom, on the way there he sees a table with three girls. Obviously A decides it would be a good idea to chat them up, so after we (K, B and Me) eat we head over to this table. The deal was if they hated us after 10 minutes we'd buy them a round and leave. J and P show up about half an hour later and we are still chatting up these girls, who we since have learned (well two of them at least) actually work at the Arena. Needless to say we pretty much tapped out the night with them, I do remember trying to get one of their numbers and upon mild rebuke write mine on her party hat. At 1:30 we decide it would be best to cut and run before the crowds.

Anyone who lives in SE Michigan knows we has freaking KILLER snow last night. So we get out of the bar to find ourselves in 4 inches of snow. So what happens, we have snow ball fights on the way back to J's place. At some point J, A and B are like we need food, so they head off looking for one of Ann Arbors 4 am establishments. P, K and I head back to J and P's place to check on J's brother (who passed out in J and P's bed before they left to meet us at the Arena).

Our night was uneventful after that, J, A and B however had other stories about cops yelling at them for snow ball fights and throwing shoes at each other. Apparently the Pizza House on S Uni and Church was open, so they end up there around 2 am and meet some guy named Samson. Samson proceeds to throw up all over the table J, A and B are sitting at, unphased they continue to eat and eventually they head back to J and P's place. By 5 am, B, A, K and I decide to go back to A's place (because it is bigger and we all have a place to crash). K's Grand Cherokee takes the unplowed roads fine, but B's G6 has some issues. We make it to A's place by 6 am, talk until 7 am, pass out then wake up at 10 am and head back here to Troy.

The roads are still not clean (well the freeways are decent). I just got home an hour ago. Apparently K got one of the girls e-mails so we can get the pictures they took from the evening. None of our other friends will believe us!
