Nice story.

Re: GMI Exclusive: Camaro Monza Caught!

If this isn't an april fools joke, it does confirm some stuff MG and others were hoping for on Caddy Zeta in that they will have lighter suspension and other pieces that were useful for a car like this. This seems like an April Fools deal though in how much info was supposedly gathered from an inside source.

Re: GMI Exclusive: Camaro Monza Caught!

If someone wanted to pull a more cruel and inhumane April Fools Joke, GMI would have posted a "Firebird Set to Return 2012" and had MonaroSS do a great PhotoChop to go along with it.

You probably would have heard about me on the news going postal at my workplace screaming something to the matter of "WHY WON'T GM JUST BRING IT BACK ALREADY?!?!?!?!?! STOP TOYING WITH MY HEART GM!!!!!!!!!!!!!" while I throw board room chairs through the windows.

Re: GMI Exclusive: Camaro Monza Caught!

If it's true......I guess I'll have to shut up about the Camaro 'Monza's' weight problem....

If not.....well, I think I'll take a trip down under and pay JoeT a visit *cracks knuckles*

I'm waiting for the "GM has change of heart, will re-introduce Chevrolet El Camino in 2010!!" thread...

Doood, don't be such a wet blanket.

I thought it was fun - very creative. Too bad it's, ahem, that day of the year.

It's too bad this is an April Fool's joke, because that is AWESOME. The hatchback actually looks really good on the Camaro, and it sounds like it'd be a total blast to drive.

This would be a great cover for an Alpha mule, like Honda using the S2000 for an NSX mule.

Much cooler and more imaginative and creative than the actual Camaro.

Re: GMI Exclusive: Camaro Monza Caught!

Monza......Monza????? If anyone believes this they need to look down at the calender! This isnt nearly as good as some of the previous April Fools jokes on GMi! I remember last years being much more believeable, I am kinda dissapointed! Whats next, Bob Lutz greenliting the Cadillac Sixteen?

Re: GMI Exclusive: Camaro Monza Caught!

Camaro and Mustang would both do well to consider somthing like this for the next generation. It may be the only way these nameplates can survive in the decades to come. I hope such inovation does not go down in history as only an April fools joke otherwise GM and Ford will be the fools!!!

Re: GMI Exclusive: Camaro Monza Caught!

I actually like this. Even if it is an April Fool's joke. If the roof/glass section could be pushed forward about 6 inches, the proportions would look better. IMO all the F-bodys should have 2 seats with a package shelf behind. I have rarely seen F-bodys with more than 2 persons in them at a given time. I can count on one hand the number of times my Firebird's rear seats have been used. And I bet many buyers (hot-rod set) will prefer a live axle. I hope as many of these weight-reducing ideas as possible can be used. But PLEASE do not bring back the Monza name!
