Re: GMI Exclusive: Camaro Monza Caught!
Joke or no joke, the turbo 4 Camaro is a good idea. But please, PLEASE don't call it a Monza. My friend had a 1980 Monza whose electric system caught fire and the car burned while sitting in his driveway. That's an old GM name that needs to stay dead.

Re: GMI Exclusive: Camaro Monza Caught!
If this isn't an April fool's joke then this is great news. It sounds like a great concept with autocrossing and road racers in mind. I think they should leave the front heat extractors to differentiate them more from the regular Camaro's. I would actually perfer this over the V6 model. The key with this car will be pricing. It sounds expensive with some exotic materials. Hopefully they are lower priced then the V6 Camaro. Also, I do love the name Monza.

Ugh, are you sure? That's one of the things I don't like about this concept (that and the goofy rear end). If it needs extractors I sure hope they don't end up being that large.

Re: GMI Exclusive: Camaro Monza Caught!
If this wasn't a joke (I know it is)
We need more news like this. Where are the sportscars under 3000 pounds? If we have to pay more for these cars so be it. I can see more of those already on the road sticking around for a few more years and when the new more expensive ones are used in about 15 to 20 years more of the common folk will own them as well.. Re: GMI Exclusive: Camaro Monza Caught!
I hate April Fools. Not because of getting tricked but because it's a waste of brain cycles trying to figure out what is or isn't. I have better things to do with my time than partake in childish pranks.
Hence, I've optimized and believe nothing until April 2nd. Gives me a whole day to concentrate on other things while the world fools around pretending they have a sense of humour. |

Re: GMI Exclusive: Camaro Monza Caught!
Yeah I like them because they are functional, otherwise it would be a big NO. Also, it adds to the sides of the car since they removed the regular Camaro's (fake) "Shark Gills" from the rear fenders. I honestly don't think this should even be a Camaro at all. I would perfer them to change it up a little more and let them call it something else like a Corvair Monza or whatever.

Re: GMI Exclusive: Camaro Monza Caught!
I can't wait for April 2, so we'll know if it's a April's fool joke or not.
Monza is a good name but some might have remember the bad memories of the derived H-body Vega 1975-80 Monza, another name we could try is Corsa or even Corvail to tease and annoy Ralph Nader ![]() ![]() |

Good joke... inboard brakes pulled off an old Jag.
Buddy of mine has a Jag that has them. They look like a real PITA to work on.

DOH!!!!
I knew today was April 1st. Why in the world did I believe this? LMAO!!! Nice. GMI got me again. Too bad though. Something like this would be a great way to get through to the import crowd.
