Drag racing game. Want to give your input on building a car?

Just for the heck of it I decided to in a sense share my game with you. That is if you care. I will list everything and you pick what you want. We can see who can build the best car. I will build it to your specs and I'll give you all the results of the run which means time, trap speed 1/8 miles, 60ft, 0-60,0-100 and so on or if it can't hook up or can't stop doing a wheelie.

So choose what you want

Vehicles
1956/1995 Corvette
1969 Pontiac GTO
1994/1987/1966 Ford Mustang
1970 Plymouth Superbird
1990 Dodge Avenger
1969 Chevy Truck
1969 AMC AMX
1972 Plymouth Duster
1960 Chevy Impala
1974 Chevy Vega
1987 Buick GNX
1972 Chevy El Camino
1972 Chevy Chevelle
1998 Pontiac Trans Am WS6
1969/1998 Chevy Camaro Z28
1977 Chevy Camaro
1982 Chevy Monte Carlo
1959 Cadillac Eldorado
1969 Chevy Nova
1970 Plymouth Barracuda
1969 Dodge Charger
1955 Chevy Bel Air (wheelie bars)
I'll also adjust the weight to what you want.

If you want a certain engine like 440,454,327 just tell me.

Stall can go from 1-9999
Stock Street 1200
HP street 1800
Street strip 2500
Drag race 3500/4000/4500/5000

I'll take care of the tires and getting it to hook.

Keep in mind the parts have to at least match up. You can't put 3 inch valves on a 4 inch bore and some combinations don't like 18.00 compression.

What are you doing, using Desktop Dyno to check out engine performance? Those are pretty much all of the Desktop Dyno input areas.

Re: Drag racing game. Want to give your input on building a car?

Let's see how close it'll get to what my truck actually runs.

1969 Chevy Truck

383 Stroker - (.040" over) 4.040" x 3.75"

Single Plane intake

Low Performance-ported large valves

750cfm edelbrock 4 barrel

Long tube hedders w/ open exhaust

Stock 350 valve size - ?

Compression Ratio of 9.8:1

Dual purpose street cam

Lift - Intake - .488 Exhuast - .495

Hydraulic lifters

Gasoline

THM-350 trans

3.07:1 Rear end gearing

Stock Street 1200 stall

Would be kinda cool if it got pretty close to my actual runs down the 1/8th!

I thought it was the same thing. The weird part was that My Automotive Engine Teacher just showed us the program yesterday. It's a cool program. He built a pretty stout 502 BBC with around 900hp. Gives you a pretty good idea of which parts to buy for your motor first, and which you shouldn't waist money on.

That's a turbo 350 trans right? That's what I used. Also for heads I used 2.02. I got better times if I allowed a little wheel spin. With no wheel spin I think it bogged or something, also I used a transbrake to launch it. I used small tube headers with open exhaust.

Horsepower-431@5504
Torque-441@4480
The truck weighed about 4,300.

No wheel spin/wheel spin
1/4 et-14.091/13.825
1/4 trap speed-112.45/115.06
Reaction time-0.319/0.234
60 ft time-2.997/2.946
60 ft speed-26.84/27.5
1/16 mile time-6.796/6.672
1/16 speed-68.95/70.10
1/8 mile time-9.637/9.467
1/8 speed-88.44/90.2
1000 ft time-12.062/11.842
1000 ft speed-102.5/104.74
0-60-5.881/5.676
0-100-11.611/11.036

I even got a lower time of 13.616.
I think it wants more gear to put it in the powerband quicker, which is why it probably ran quicker with a little wheelspin. I even got a few more in the 12 range, but I didn't write them down as I wanted to stop the wheelspin. Seems like that would be the best way.

I just did another run and got a 9.305 in the 1/8.

Thats close, my best was a 9.172 in the 1/8 @ 83.0 mph but I was running in the 9.7 range before I jetted it down so its a pretty good simulator. That's pretty cool!
