Chrysler 300 Limo Crash test!
http://youtube.com/watch?v=vXmcKjaouXA
A LOT of different camera angles. Perhaps the coolest starts at 2:58 seconds, where they have a camera UNDER the car. I'd say it held up very well. Video of the rear crash test can be found from the same user.

Whoa, that held up remarkably well. Seriously, the A pillar and roof barely moved.
I'll never get the point of such long vehicles though.

Re: Chrysler 300 Limo Crash test!
that's pretty impressive considering all the extra weight added to it

Re: Chrysler 300 Limo Crash test!
No no no, you're so wrong, extra weight adds SAFETY, don't you know? :p
Now, it did look neato and all, but: 1. It doesn't strike me as a particularly high-speed crash. 2. It's good to know the chauffeur and his companion are doin' fine, but I'd love to see the inside cam shots with mannequins simulating unbuckled (do you buckle up in a rental limo?) passengers and limo gear such as champagne glasses flying around and heating each other multiple times, while inflicting injuries from ER's worst nightmare... 3. With stretched cars, frontal crash is not a problem, side impact is (not to mention the stretched limos are much more exposed to such danger due to their sheer length and poor maneuvrability). Somehow, they didn't try that, and I bet the results would have been spectacular. 4. There is a link on the right to an actual Chrysler 300C crash test (frontal, deformable barrier). The car does ok, but it is a good comparison how an ACTUAL crash test (speed, barrier and all) should look like for this behemoth. It also did strike me in the shots when the guy checked the fuel tank cover thing how remarkably similar did this part of the car look to a W124 sedan (especially that the paint seemed creamish in this lighting, which made it look like a German taxi): ![]() ![]() |
