The back of my grill is open about two inches. I end up putting cardboard up till the birds move on. The wasp build under control panel.

If I saw an angry ROUS under the hood of my truck I'd slam the hood and smoke it out!

When i bought my 2001 Monte carlo SS there was a birds nest in the air filter housing as well as one trapped between the engine block and firewall. Mind you it had been sitting in a barn for 2 years when i found it.

For anyone who has nothing better to do, I blogged about a rat that was living in the hood of my Coupe de Ville a few years ago--yes, the hood itself. The whole point of the blog was to tell mundane stories, so it's boring on purpose.

The stories are here (part I) and here (part II).

When the Trailblazer was newer, I'd park it by the barn out back when visiting my parents. I left it there for a couple of days once only to find the engine running very rough next time I used it. The check engine light was confused....sometimes on, sometimes off.

Turns out a rat chewed through some of the electronics under the hood. $500 later, I had the Trailblazer repaired. Found the rat dead a few days later next to a pile of poison that I put out.
