Review: 2010 Buick Lacrosse
Got a chnace to check out a fully functioning new Lacrosse. i didnt drive it but got to go over everything else:
Exterior: First thing I noticed was how big it is. It fits in with the Lexus GS, 5 series, CTS, etc... It is very good looking, with a "swoopspear" running along the beltline that looks amazing in person. The wheels options are nice. The taillights remind me of the Lexus LS, they're l.e.d. and look great lit up. Overall the best looking Buick ever made. It will also appeal to the under 30 crowd. Interior: This is where we have a winner. When you open the door the cabin fills with ambient blue lighting.. and it is all over! They had the blue lit "BUICK" door sills added as well. Next I looked at the door panels and the shape is pleasing, and they are a mix of soft touch plastic and leather. Same goes for the dash. I sat in the front and back, plenty of leg room and super comfy seats. They are also heated and ventilated in front. And both sides were optioned with 8 way full adjusting power. The new GM steering wheel felt good and was the right size, with optional heating. Next I spent quite some time playing around with the center stack. The new GM NAV system is amazing, with Apple/Windows like colors and graphics, and the newer controls similar in the Insignia are easy even though there's way more buttons than typical GM cars. You can use it as a touch screen or use a select wheel with back button. I think it would take too much to explain everything it can do, but lets just say it blows every other NAV on the market away. Im pleased to annouce that yes, it has push button start... no more complaining! Now the crowning jewel of my time in the Lacrosse: the gauge cluster. WOW WOW WOW. Since I am a visual person, the look of the gauges have always been high on my list. If anyone has sat in a Lexus IS, with its crisp white gauges and graphics, you'll know they were one of the best. The lacrosse hands down beats it. GM has finally came out with class winning gauges. They have great color, very crisp, bright, with nice ambience. In between the gauges is the new DIC screen. I only saw the one in the CXS, but the fact that they put a full color, high res, animated DIC is completely above and beyond what I expected. You'll have to see it to believe it. Its amazing. I wont go into every option, have a look at buick.com for that. Good job GM. Now do this in every car. **(also, there is a model code for a Buick lacrosse 4 cyl CX model: 4GB69 which I havent seen mentioned yet, dont know when its coming)**

Re: Review: 2010 Buick Lacrosse
Really? I was surprised at how much smaller it was in person than it looked in pictures. In pictures it looks more like Lucern sized or bigger for some reason (even though I knew it wasn't). Others commented the same. I saw it from behind a velvet rope, however.

Re: Review: 2010 Buick Lacrosse
ya... about those pics.... even though I had my camera phone with me... I forgot to take some pics. Good news is they are building them as we speak and are on the way to dealers... so you can see them yourself shortly... you'll see what I mean about the interior though. Make sure you turn it on.

Re: Review: 2010 Buick Lacrosse
It is actually a little bit smaller than the '09 Lucerne, moving to the shorter platform. Inasfar as the blue lighting is concerned, this will only be on the upscale model. Most LaCrosses will be more "basic" models (read: rental car rendition).
Not for a minute do I think someone who is in the market for a Lexus GS or BMW 5 series is going to consider a mid-size Buick regardless how well styled it is. The engineering is still 20 years behind it's supposed competitors. |

The engineering is 20 years behind the Toyota Avalon and Ford Taurus?

Re: Review: 2010 Buick Lacrosse
The Lacrosse is gorgeous. And sitting on EpII it will handle well and, unlike at least one poster, is utterly modern. So modern, in fact, that it's sister vehicle -- the Regal/Insignia is outselling Audi in Europe.
I can hardly wait until GM puts the Regal in the same showroom as the Lacrosse and Enclave. Eliminate the Lucerne. It doesn't fit, it just looks old. And while GM is at it, put the Vue in the showroom as the Rendezvous and bring over a limited number of Park Avenues and Buick has a kickass lineup. It would just need that Riviera concept and it'll do exceptionally well. |

Re: Review: 2010 Buick Lacrosse
They will. A lot of magazine ads and TV product placement from what I've seen.

Where do you get all this info? Do you know when they will begin arriving in dealers? I know they are building 1 every shift.
