OMG, GM listened.... somewhat. 2008 Chevy Malibu LS interior review

Well as I said in another post, we got our first 2008 Malibu back on Tuesday. Well we got another one( both are strippers) and they brought into the service lane and left it there unlocked. Besides me doing the usual giving/correcting the salesmen on info( one thought they put in the 3900 V6) when we talked about it I sat in it.

First, yes it does have a striking resemblance to the Aura's interior( I drove the parts guy nuts when mentioning it ). But, GM listened to us beta testers. The center armrest is..................... nice soft LEATHER( or faux leather). The door armrest is still plastic, but not as harsh as the Aura's. I must say the leather around the gearshift is a nice touch too. The top of the dashboard uses soft materials, but the bottom still uses hard plastic. Though the touch was better then the Aura's. I am also somewhat disappointed in the backlighting of the IPC. In pictures it looks sweet lit up, etc. Maybe it is different when it is off, but it looked duller then in the pics. Though I still prefer it over the Aura's orange backlighting( that is probably because blue is easier on the eyes).

Didn't a Saturn rep state that Aura's door panels were also changed? It's still a parts bin door, right?

I prefer Saturn's orange.

They did and I am sure it is similar if not the same then to the Malibu's. I just haven't sat in a '08 Aura to really compare.
