Re: Honda Accord

First of all, I’d like to say thank you to the website owner for having me a chance to be on this forum to give some of my thoughts.

I believe the freedom of speech in this country, and I think if we could not chew out from what we have been experienced with, then we will miss the points, and all American automobile companies will still make the same mistakes. Do you agree with me?

To Fenwick,
There are some GM sedan vehicles are very good, but as what I said, there are not many of them could beat Honda on the quality, neither the design. I don’t like the new Camry. I think it looks so lousy on the interior and the exterior.
From our work, we have a big shop at the county with full installers to deal with cops and county vehicles every day. My job is to deal with the vehicle radios and computers. They install them, we fix them. I could tell exactly which vehicles are the worse out there for sure.
I do believe Honda has been created many job here in the US in the past 35 years, and I can’t stand my Explorer has over 50% parts are not made in the US. Believe me or not, three out of the four door pin switches of my Explorer were out, including the two rear window regulators were defected. Ford did not want to pay for those repair, and guess what? None of these parts were made in the US. Was that suck? Is that what someone call, "Create jobs for Americans"?

eurohazard,
Thank you. My wife and I love this car pretty much. I used to be a mechanic 15 years ago. Now I am working in radio and computer.
This Honda is an ex model. It had a capability to upgrade it into a turbo engine. The exhaust is much larger than the Fusion and some of other 4 cylinders engine cars. It's a fast car for a 4 cylinder engine. It goes very smooth from zero to 70 in a matter of a second. It is faster than a Cadillac CTS. Well, I am avoid for a ticket,

Speedjerk,
I know that you like these cars. All of my friends who own Honda for many years. They still love them.
I honestly tell you that's from the beginning I didn't like a Honda. Let me tell you the story I had in the past. 20 years ago, I went to a Japanese dealer in Southern Cal to look at a Civic, and there was a sale man told me that, "You want a car, get a degree first". I hate that dealer so much that I did not look at a Honda so many years.

To many of us on this website, I do believe Ford or GM could make a much better car in the US. To Ford, Ford needs to have a better design on the components, and also the quality control is a must. Let me tell you this, I was so surprise that I went back to Ford to look at a new Fusion and an Explorer. I found in some of the areas, they all have the same mistake as the ones I had.

Running an automobile company is just alike restaurants. People rate a restaurant not for just only a good food, but services such as Food handling, cleaness of the tables, kitchen and the restroom.

Everyone have a great Holiday! and Don't drink and drive!

Re: Honda Accord

It sounds like Tony hasn't driven or looked at Saturn Aura or Chevrolet Malibu or Pontiac G6. Mayge, if his wife is looking for a Civic, they obviously want to spend more money than buying a Cobalt, they should look at the Saturn Astra.

Re: Honda Accord

Troll or not, might be wise to listen to Tony 209. He's just bought (IMO) the hottest brand in America (look what youth drive) and (in the opinion of professionals) the highest re-sale value in America.

If GM had listened 35 years ago, maybe there wouldn't be any imports and GM wouldn't be begging us for more cash today.

Re: Honda Accord

How is everyone Christmas?

Joe in T.O,
I dont't think we like any American cars by this movement. Those cars don't bring any good reputation to us any longer (not this movement).

Fish Factory,
We think Honda is a very good brand right now. Those sadan have very good handling, great power, smooth engines and transmissions, and exactly what you say, "Good resale value". We love the feature of everything inside and out of the Honda. Especially, the 4 cylinders Accord engine. Therefore, it is smooth acceleration when the engine engages with the transmission that the Ford and GM could not beat it.

I would like to see Ford and GM will compete in those area in the future. I am myseft, at my work, I personally test drive many Fords and GM sedan vehicles from the county vehicles. I found Toyota camry has beat Ford and GM in the engine design.

Please do not remove the post what I would want to say. As a customer, I just want Ford and GM to know what my feeling is. I'd like Ford and GM to improve in those area so that the customers, or myself will come back for those in the future.
Would it be nice to have a comfortable drive with a smooth acceleration and a quiet engine or to be in a loud, noisy, rought engine on the way home?

That's my opinion.
Thank you,
Tony

Re: Honda Accord

Good luck with your accord tony. We are also a family of Honda owners as my dad owned an accord and now a 07 lx, my mom a crv. Though we might venture towards other brands since Honda has gone a bit awry with the accord (and the rest of its line-up as well). We have a bit of our own problems such as the tranny crapping out from the 89,(I hate automatics for this reason) and the power window noise when its up and down. I hope none of this happens to you with your purchase. Whatever suits your money and needs.

Re: Honda Accord

Htay7500,
Thank you. I heart about the problem with the transmissions. But this problem has been solved, I believe. Also, I've seen Honda has been changed to some of the options I really like about.
The most important thing I like about it is the quiet of the engine compares with other brands. I assume Ford and GM will make better cars. I could buy a GM or come back to Ford if they could make cars better than the way they are now.
Again, I thank you to the owner of this website for giving me some feedback in this forum.
Tony

Re: Honda Accord

So what does GM or Ford have to improve on again? Quieter engine noise and prettier engine bay?

I don't get it. Is it because you can see the headers?

Quieter engine noise?

I'd have to say they're pretty damn quiet...not sure what cars you've been driving...

Exactly. Test drive an AURA. Sometimes I think that ours is electric or is dead because I don't hear anything from the engine.

Re: Honda Accord

Mikmak,

Honda has a much better engines. Small engines with higher power.

I have tried Aura. It is too damn small and it does not have much power in the engine. The design is not so impressive.
We have some Aura came in for the radio install. Most of the vehicles here now are Toyota Camry and Crown Vic. Toyota Camry are so smooth on the acceleration compare with most of the car, even my Honda is not as smooth as camry. But Camry interior is so ugly. The engine is not so beautiful as the Accord. For Aura and the Malibu, I think GM needs to improve more in the engine compartment and the shape of the vehicles.
The worst vehicle I've seen from my work place is the Ford Crown Vic. I think it is terrible. Do you guys agree? Many of them we can't even figure out where the needle indicator of the transmission on the scale is showing at, P, R, D, 1, 2. These needles are sometimes shown in the middle of the two.

Our engines are perfectly fine, might I remind you who has the most fuel efficient midsize sedans?

As for vehicle shape...

Malibu looks much more sleek and streamlined.
