Re: Honda Accord

CBECK,
I was thinking just like you in the past. But if there is no improvement in a business, who's care?
Guess what? My Honda Accord is 95% parts and labor cost are produced here in the US. I disassembly my Ford's parts once. Many of them are not even made in the USA. Moreover, most of Ford parts are made in China and Mexico.
What do you think?

Sure it creates jobs, but ALL THE PROFIT goes back to japan to honda inc. We need to look out for ourselves here. We should support OUR companies. I am sure those other websites will LOVE ALL OVER YOU. Bye

Re: Honda Accord

Sure, I know that we need to create job here in the USA rather from some where else. But, recently, Ford does not create job here in the US any more.
I actually disassembled my Ford and I found there were not many parts were made in the US. Now, the Fusion line is made in Mexico.
My Honda is claimed to be made in the US. I believe all the parts it claims is 95% made in the US and Canada. The rest could be made in Japan.
Well, if Japan banned on our beefs, why would I have to buy their cars, right?
You guys got to figure it out. I think US cars could be made better than Japanese cars.

Chevy Malibu is JD Power and Associates Best Midsize Sedan in Initial Quality. The camry and accord weren't even on the list.

And the profits from the sale of a domestic still stay in the US. The majority of the money you spent on your accord was shipped overseas to Japan.

Buy whatever you want, you are free to do so. If a company wants your money, they better show you more than just a flag to get it.

Some people here will tell you to support the home team and buy american and jobs and all that, but many bought such american cars gladly with the discount the dealer was offering on them. I doubt one person stood up to say "I want to help my fellow country men and our own companies, I wholeheartedly reject your discount offer, and will pay full MSRP."

Everyone is the same, all out for themselves. Here it's just convenient and relatively easy for people to say "buy american" because they happen to like american cars. If they eventually began liking something else, they would quickly and quietly stop the flag waving.

Re: Honda Accord

I am sorry. Tony209 is clearly trolling. Congratulations on the new car and all....I like the Accords myself. But I wouldn't join a GM site to brag about it.

Little things are bothering me; like talking about how neat and roomy the under-hood area is. What the heck is that all about? Do you work on your own cars? It doesn’t sound like it from your description of transmissions engaging. And the exhaust is not “huge”. Maybe you have a tip on the end of your exhaust to make it seem huge? Do you have an LX or an EX?

I like Honda's too. I have owned a few and I agree, I surely would not come on this site, like others have said, and promote my purchase without comparing it to the site's brand.

Something is fishy about this OP as he is clearly trolling for something other than fish. Sounds like an inexperienced young kid to me.

I agree. I purchased a 2000 GM S-10 2.2 and had to trade it in on my current truck. The S-10 did not have the power to pull my 3500 lb boat and trailer. Plus, it lacked CD and A/C standard. As it is, I like it a lot. It's too bad no company is making the small 4cyl trucks anymore. I also bought mine used, so it wasn't like I was selling out what little profit GM makes on their base 4cyl trucks. This truck is more American than any other Toyota, as it was designed and manufactured for the most part right here in America and built at this award wining NUMMI plant in CA, without the help of the UAW...and that made me feel good.

I went to that site because I was curious, and saw their December car of the month thread, and I couldn't help but chuckle, that 2 of the 3 have at least one unpainted body panel. Also, the thirds first picture shows it without a hood. lol

As far as the current Accord goes, maybe I'm alone here but I think it is the best looking Accord yet, although it is a bit large.

The accord would look 100000x better if it didn't have that stupid character line gouged into the side.
