Honda Accord

It took us almost a year to shop for a new vehicle. This time we choose a Honda Accord after we had many test drive on Ford, GM, BMW and other brands.
This car is perfect for us for the money. The vehicle acceleration is so smooth that it's hard for everyone to know when the transmission is shifted between the gears. There is some road noise but we think it is normal because it is so close to the ground. Moreover, the best thing about this vehicle is the design of the exterior and the interior. It looks pretty neat and perfect in every angle. Under the hood, the engine looks so beautiful and neat. The exhaust is huge and the space behind the engine is big enough that it will be ready for a four cylinders engine turbo.
This vehicle is fast for a four cylinders engine. It's a great design for Honda to catch the customers'eyes. My wife when she first looked at this Accord, she said out loud, "Wow, honey, please, please get this one". One thing we did not like about it was we had to wait most of the afternoon to make a deal with the dealer before we traded in the Ford we had.
We have to say this Accord is a great car.

I have to disagree about the exterior. I think it looks like an old person car now. But anyway, congratulations on your new car!

Re: Honda Accord

Yes, I agree with you. But from the begining, we thought it looked old. Then we realized that it has some of its style. The shape it has is so unique compares with my old Fusion. Sorry, we were with Ford and this time we let it goes for good.
To compare between Accord and Fusion, Fusion has an old tail of Accord. Do you agree with me? Also, my wife she could not see things behind the vehicle because the rear end of the Fusion is too high.
We are thinking to purchase another Honda soon. She wants a new Civic.

Re: Honda Accord

Could you elaborate on why you had to wait most of the afternoon to make a deal?

Sounds like something a GM dealer would get crucified for.

Re: Honda Accord

Well, be honest. We went to Stockton Honda to look at an Accord more than twice in two months. Therefore, we went to Ford in Elk Grove, Honda of Elk Grove, Toyota, BMW, Hundai, GMC and Cadillac. Of course we did take a lot of test drive. You wouldn't believe it. I think some of them knew our faces. )
Anyway, we came back to Stockton Honda again. This time my wife she specifically wanted a new Accord. Then we decided to come right into the dealer desk to ask one of them to show us an Accord again. My wife she said, buy it but make a deal.
We know the price of the Accord, they made the deal on the trade in of my Fusion. It was too bad that the Fusion we had trade in was not much. We wanted it at least 12 because it's a 2006 model. But you know how the Ford is... The sale man was running back and forth many times until we agree to get rid of the Fusion for 8500. It took the deal and paper work exactly from 12pm until 5pm. We were so tire to waited for it. That was the first time we had an experience with a deal. I remember my wife and I was so hungry. But she love the car. We also love the sale person there too.

Honda dealers.....worst in the business.

I think that Honda dealers might be partially responsible for the continued existince of Saturn. It took me 3 hours from the time I stepped foot into the Chevy store when I left with the keys...and that included me leaving at some point because I wasn't happy with the deal. They called me with the numbers I wanted as I was pulling into the Toyota dealer and I had to turn around.

Re: Honda Accord

Isnt there a Honda lovers site that gives a $hit you could join?

Aren't we trying to support GM here?

Yeah but he traded a Ford in on it. Oh wait it's not a Ford site either. I don't mind when people bring up other cars as a comparison but why in the world would you come into a GM site to talk about your new Honda purchase when you made no mention of a GM comparison. Starved for attention perhaps?

Just think your new car only costs about 10,000 U.S. jobs. But who cares right.

Re: Honda Accord

haha, you guys are so funny. I love you guys.
Ok, I forgot what this website is! But for the comparision between Honda and GM. GM beats Honda on the big cars, such as Trucks and SUVs. Therefore, GM has a very top design on trucks and SUV. Honda beats all American cars on the small size vehicles.
For the dealership, I think Ford is the worse. I don't really know about Honda service yet. I am the first time Honda buyer now, but all Honda drivers, I haven't heart any complaining.
I've been through two Ford dealers for my car to be serviced in the past. They didn't do a very good job. Matter of fact, I had a relative who is a handicap in the vehicle during the time I was in for service. There was a problem with the visor that should take only a few minutes to fix, but the dealer refused it, he wanted to drop the vehicle off so that he could charge for an hour repair because the vehicle was under warrantee.
After all, I had to chat with the service person for a while until he agreed with me that my relative who is a handicap in the vehicle.

Re: Honda Accord

For GM, I believe there is a problem with one of the model car it has in the market right now. Do you know which one it is? My wife and I can't forget this car. It's a Cadillac CTS.
We took a test drive almost a year ago. When we step quickly on the gas pedal to speed up into the freeway, the engine did not seem to engage with the transmission very well. Awfully, the Cadillac was jumping roughly and loosed its speed.
When we got back to the dealer, the sale person noticed that we did not like the vehicle at all. He was nervous and did not say anything to us.
Hondas and Toyotas don't seem to have this problem at all.
Do you agree?
