The Fit looks more like a toy to me and one really can't compare a hatch/mpv w/ a "cute-ute."

A better comparison for looks would be the Hyundai i20 or the upcoming Kia mpv (No.3) - they would also be a better comparison w/ regard to handling/road manners and fuel consumption (if had been available) against the Fit than are the cute-utes like the Soul and Cube.
To me, a cute-ute would be a car-based SUV. These aren't SUVs; they're just boxier takes on the Fit. A Honda Civic isn't in a different class from a Ford Focus just because one is sleeker than the other.

The Soul, xB and Cube are just boxy, mini car-based cute-utes/SUVs - well as much as being an "SUV" as the car based CR-V, Santa Fe, etc.

The Hyundai i20 shares the same underlying platform w/ the Soul and has more in common w/ the Fit, being in the sub-compact hatch segment.
