2007 Camry LE V6

Today I decided to stop at the local Toyota dealer and check out the 2007 Camry. When I pulled up on the lot, a Blue Ribbon Metallic LE V6 immediately caught my attention.

The salesman asked if I wanted to test drive it, and initially didn't want to, but I had time to kill, and the salesman get commision for it so I said why not.

Exterior:
While most on GMI wouldn't agree, I really did like the exterior of this car. It's pretty sporty looking while also having that upscale look. The front end of this car, an area where so many said was ugly, looks much better in person.

Interior:
The old Camry LE's interior had good materials, but it looked very cheap because of it's color scheme. That simply isn't the case in the '07. I thought it was very upscale for the price, and it's metallic trim, & cloth seats were of good quality.

Engine:
You can sum this thing into one word: FAST. When I took it out on the freeway, I was able to do 70 with only 1900 RPM. There was plenty of passing power, the engine doesn't feel like it's going to strain itself, it's quiet, and it offers better fuel-economy than the outgoing MZ engines.

If I was to buy an '06 Camry, the only model I would buy would've been the XLE V6, simply because it offered the most options, and I just couldn't stand the looks of the LE model. For '07, I could definitely see myself going for an LE now that it has a more upscale look, and offers plenty for a decent price.

I also checked out the Silver FJ Cruiser they had in the showroom (with a little SOLD sign on it), and like the Camry, pictures don't do it justice. The interior is solid with good quality materials, the seats are very comfortable, and it offers world class 4WD ability. I really think it's going to be a hit.

Nice write up gris, I too agree that the picturs don't do the Camry justice. You just don't get to see what the car is truly like through megapixels.
You saw the FJ? That's pretty cool, I wish there was one at our dealer's lot, but no luck. I hope I see more of these on the road than those d@mn H3s or dated Wrangler.

I can do 70 or so at 17-1800 rpm in my 5.3 silverado, only mod is a GM corsa muffler and a 3 1/2 inch tip

Yeah, this FJ was already sold to the owner of the dealership, but the official release date was today. Infact, it's on the Toyota website, now.

Don't V8s tend to run at lower RPM's anyways? Hell, in my 3 speed 73 Continental, I can probably go about 70mph @ 1400rpm since the gears are set so tall. Not sure since it doesn't have a tach, but I'm just taking a wild guess since I get OK gas mileage on the highway in that thing.

???? Today? Those ugly things have been driving around our auto mall for 2 weeks?! Did I say they were ugly... ive seen three in person.. a blue one, a red one, and another blue one. All of them have got to be the UGLIEST suv i have ever seen. I made sure I scowled at the test drivers when I flew by them.

Finally, I have proof that you're a big fat phony. Look here: http://www.toyota.com/fjcruiser/exterior.html note that there ISN'T a red FJ Cruiser. And how can you call something ugly when you drive that car in your avatar?

Isn't it obvious? If I owned a Conti and saw where Lincoln is heading today, I might consider inflicting physical pain on Bill & Elena Ford...

I don't hate Ford. In fact, I have a big soft spot in my heart for Ford. I just get kind of sad when I think about what Ford used to be as opposed to what it became in the very late 70's up on through about 2004-ish. But they've done a lot of improving over the last couple of years, as has GM and Chrysler.

Ohh, I didn't see the "If" at the beginning of his sentence. Oh well, it's late.
