2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
My mom rented a truck to go on a trip and i went too.She rented a 05 silverado 2500hd crew cab 4x4 LS with the 6.0L Vortec V8.
RIDE: It rode like a truck(which i dont mind).I dont really care so that didnt matter.I was just suprised it was about the same as a f250 with a solid axle.I thought it would be softer because of the IFS.The Vortec was smooth and it sounded nice.It has a nice growl in it.It got the truck going pretty good.Better than my dads f150 anyways. EXTEROR:Nice looking truck.Ive always thought the 03 up chevys look mean.I like the new look.Didn't like the color of it,but it was a dark red pinkish color.Woulda liked it better if it was in black. INTERIOR: I like the interior.Dont know why I just do.Sound system was geat nice and loud and it was crisp. We put it really loud and put Green Day blasting outta it.It was kinda hard getting into the Silverado, but im 13 and it didn't have running boards.Im also used to get into a Half ton truck .The interior Dosn't look as good as the F150,But who cares. The interior was kinda sqeaky too.The buttons sounded funny when pressed.I liked the odometre feature on how you can turn it into how many hours you have out on it.I also didn't like how the tempurature was on the mirror.I like it on the overhead console. The lights on the overhead console were cool.Pointed any direction .But if you kept them on after a while they got hot and if you wanted to move them you burned yourself.Overall I would take this truck as a gift and sell it to buy a F250.But if ford didnt exist Ide buy one.Mabye with the 8.1L Big Block or a Duramax. Ill rate it 8.2/10

Re: 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
Thats a good review fordrules, although I feel sorry for you that you can't drive yet, I've driven all of the GM trucks with all engines except for the 6.6L, duramax! My favorite is the 1500HD with the 6.0L, the 8.1L is a massive beast, when you shift to drive while driving a 2500HD with the 8.1L, the truck shutters slightly and I love that feeling of brute power. I can't wait to test drive a 2006 HD with the 6 speed automatic.

Re: 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
I drove a 2500 Chevrolet Express with the 6.0 liter and that thing can move!!!. This was the long one too with the 155 inch wheelbase. For such a heavy thing it moved like a fairly quick car. It even rode well. I didnt have an issue with the ride at all in the 5 hour drive in it.

Re: 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
Although Iam only 15, Ive driven my dads 2004 Silverado 2500 Crew Cab with a 6.0l and I would have to agree with ford rules, although the truck is heavy, the 6.0l has gobs of low end torque, although, when it comes to hp, the 6.0l could use a little more bite! But other than that GREAT TRUCK
