07 Saab 9-3 Test Drive

OK I am so amazed! Today I test drove a base model Saab 9-3 with a six speed. WOW! From the seats to the ride quality the car is amazing for the price. I mean you can get one before TTL for around 21K with the rebates applied. I have to ask what is wrong with people for passing on this car. I guess they were like me in a lot of ways. I assumed Saabs were expensive and it is rare that I pass one of their dealers. Well I feel that my next car search is over. If they still have 3K rebate in July then I am going to make the move. Finally I found a GM car that I can be happy with.

The car I drove was artic white with white leather. I mean how often do cars in today’s times have white leather. Plus it had the nice wood and all. I mean the shifting position was so comfortable and everything felt like second nature. Euro rags trash the car but sorry I think it is a remarkable deal and well worth the money. Not to mention they service your car for free for 40K miles, 5 years RSA, and of course the 100K warranty.
Anyway I think this car will get me back in the GM fold but Saturn will lose me because I can not wait for the Astra. Why would I want to anyway it will most likely cost the same that I can get the Saab with rebates and invoice pricing.

It's a hoot, isn't it? It's such and eager, happy little grin machine.

If you haven't checked out my review of the 2.0T, you might. I was tough on the 6-speed, but after spending some time in a Civic Si/6M, I've rethought my position (which wasn't bad to begin with). Sweet powertrain overall.

People just don't know about it. I carry my Saab cards everywhere, and offer no-pressure test-drives just so people can see what they're like. People assume that they're high-priced, and they're always surprised to find out what they can get for what they can get it for.

It'll probably be better, unless people catch on between now and then. I've been happy with my GM cars, but I'm with you. That standard-equipment 2.0T/6M is a freaking steal, and I'll be grabbing one of my own later this year. I'm sold.

Keep us posted.

Greetings rueben44,

I can only comment by saying, I agree. I reviewed the 9-3 Convertible and if I could see my way to have three cars I would have a 9-3 Convertible. It has character and style all its own. I am huge fan of the Saab 9-3.

A truly unbelievable car....if only it had 2 more inches of legroom in the back seat. Its just too small for the family..... .

Re: 07 Saab 9-3 Test Drive

Yea I have already found some tasteful 17inch wheels for it. I also see that Saab offers an appearance package that will let you make it look more like the V6 model. Oh and I want the touch screen Bose system but I am guessing that will be hard to find in a base model. I wonder how hard it would be to add after the fact? Anyway I loved the car and I am so happy that I found an American owned product I can purchase. I would have never bought my Mazda 6 if I would have known about the pricing of this car.

21K? Where I live, they are not offered for less than 27K for the 2.0T, and most are above 30K. This does not include any rebates.

I got mine for 21k, used of course with 50k miles on it. But it has the 100k mile warranty so that sealed the deal.
