07 camry, not test drove

had a chance to drive a 07 camry the other day, came in for an oil change, was one of my normal customers his girlfriends car, so i offered to work on it.

not a bad car, just cheaply built in my opinion. excessive plastic everywhere, and i dont like the interior space of it, feel confined.

notable things i liked, push button ignition, and it seemed very quiet.

other than that i didnt really care for it. probably ok for some people but id rather have a new malibu.

Re: 07 camry, not test drove

I agree the new camry makes me think this thing was made by a bunch of designers over at maytag. And your right about the plastic My friend has an 02 corolla and it was a sea of plastic no "wood" trim to liven things up no nothing it was just plastic. Of course the camry and corolla are two diffrent cars but i guess the message toyotas sending is were better than scion but if you want a better interior go to lexus

I beg to differ. I think the Maytag designers are way ahead of the Toyota designers. At least you get color with the Maytag.

i dont know who pissed in your cheerios, but im not taking a slam against toyota, im commenting on an observation i have made, at certain things i look at on cars. just a general observation.

i thought it was a fine car, but it isnt something i would personally own.
it reminded me of the 04-07 malibus sea of grey and lots of plastic, but it road smooth and it was quiete.

it was a loaded model it had wood trim in some areas, and it had leather and the v6 in it.

i was disappointed in the interior room, the center stack was really big and bulky, oversized, everything was easy to read but it wasnt placed in the best positions.

just not my cup of tea.

thats why this is a review, its my review, and my opinion, and trust me i could pick out alot of things on GM vehicles.

It is OK....you are being honest and that is what counts. The LE models do have a lot of grey in them. It seems a lot of cars fall back to grey. It seems to be the 'neutral' color of choice like off white is for houses (interiors) when you sell those.

Re: 07 camry, not test drove

personally i like black interiors or 2 tone interiors, like red and black or black and white, or whatever, black looks clean and it stays clean easier.

i like the trim on my saturn, which is just a fake silver plastic, but it isnt over done, its not the greatest interior, but it isnt too cheap or overdone.
it works for me.
