If you like the look of the first fourth gen Camaros then I wouldn't recomend a '97. They have those redesigned tail lights. The 93-96's have the sleek tail lights.

I agree. I never liked the '97-'02 Camaro tail lights with the amber turn signal lenses. But the '97 got the MUCH improved interior though, so I guess it's a toss-up.

IMO, the tri-color tail lights are hideous enough that I'd just deal with the older interior. The older interior doesn't look bad, it's just older.

so help clear this up for me. The 97 got a new interior, and the front end changed in 98, right? And taillights also changed in 97?

but, you would rather have the LT1 than LS1?

Both are obsolete.
Althought the '98 'maro with its increased engine space can fit many other LS engines easily. A '97 Camaro would need a new hood and re-tuned suspension in order hold an LS series engine, if I'm not mistaken.
