Seat belt male spade clip
I am looking for the male spade connector on a seat belt. We have a 90 lb dog that sits behind me when I drive. We have a seat belt harness specially made for the dog. The spade connector is from my old truck, a FORD, and it is too small for the 2009 GMC 2500HD Sierra I now have. There are different numbers on all the male connectors on the rear seat, seat belts. One stamped into the plastic part is 33057728 A, and on the metal is TE939 on the rear seats and on the front seats TE964. On the spade there is a cutout opening that measures 7/8" x 1/2".
I don't want to spend $400 plus for the entire assembly, when I only need the spade connector. I have tried the wreckers in the Toronto, Ontario area without any luck. GM parts online doesn't list just this part. I would have thought that GM had standardized these connectors across their entire car and truck line, can anyone confirm this? Otherwise, I would assume that since the Sierra and Silverado are basically the same, that I could get the part from either trucks. If any of the members know where I can order this part online, a link would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Re: Seat belt male spade clip
I have fixed the problem myself. I have a Dremel and used it to remove a centre piece from the Ford Clip. The opening is the same size as those in my GMC Sierra. The Ford male spade Clip fits perfectly into the GM female portion of the seat belt connector.

Re: Seat belt male spade clip
I was gonna suggest you get a seat belt extender...they are free, and then you would have both ends of the belt!

GMC.........I was just gonna mention that!
GM and others have a seat belt extension piece avail. at most GM parts counters. Sometimes catalogued under "handicapped" parts listing for obese/handicapped owners usage. or Gmmoblity.com Heres a Gm part number for a belt extender I can't verify: GM part #12533459

Re: Seat belt male spade clip
Moot point now but any GMT900 could have provided the part. From a lowly Silverado up to an Escalade ESV. They all have the same basic belts.
