Where is the Aura Green Line?

The Saturn web site shows "extremely limited availability in spring 2008". Wasn't this announced months ago and isn't it using the same tech and the previous Vue Green Line? What the heck is taking so long? At this point, they should just hold out for the next gen BAS system that they announced last month.

I have gotten little information about the Aura Hybrid. Last I heard it was available in limited markets.

Re: Where is the Aura Green Line?

Lots of dealers FINALLY now have at least 1 Malibu Hybrid in stock, but it seems like the Aura Greenline for '08 still has never shown...except for a handful that a few dealers here and there have seen briefly.

We had 07 models and sold all 6 of them. Its' really a good car and obviously the Malibu version is great as well. But I need these things bad. The BAS system is a great alternative to the expensive Synergy Drive system in Fords' & Toyotas' plus the gains with BAS + (or 2.0, whatever this system is called) in the VUE are awesome.

Someone dropped the ball on the decision making with regards to volume for Hybrid GM vehicles. If you get them out now (not 09 MY) people will believe in the Volt and you will build a great customer base.

I'm really frustrated right now.

I agree with you completely. This is puzzling. I know this sounds crazy but, could GM be limiting Aura Hybrid availability in order to focus on increasing Malibu Hybrid production?

I see your point and it's a good one but, they are also limiting Hybrid VUE production as well. 75 Stores get 37 to fight over, I wonder if we get half as many Auras' if they ever show up for 08.

Re: Where is the Aura Green Line?

I'm pretty sure GM would have wanted to have more Aura, VUE, and Malibu hybrids to sell. They ran into problems with the batteries (I heard they are replacing all 07 MY hybrid batteries per recall) and had to redesign them. The battery manufacturer can't supply the production that GM wants. Since they can make very few 08 hybrids, they are having to come up with creative ways to limit the distribution.

What I had heard as well, frequenting a Saturn forum. Several were waiting for '08 Aura Greenlines, but it just never seemed to happen...and the word was a battery supply issue.

They must have resolved it enough to pump out a spurt of Malibu Hybrid's finally and also now the handful of Vue's, but I would assume that'll again be all we'll see for this model year. And then who knows with '09, but things better be resolved from day one, because half hybrid or not, it doesn't make it any better when you can't see one let alone even successfully order one.
