Post Sketch Just Surfaced for 2010/11 Saturn Astra

I hope this is not a repost. This rendering comes in care of the Hollywood Extra and shows a glimpse of what the 2010/11 Opel/Vauxhall/Saturn Astra could look like. My opionion....if it will look anything like this drawing the all new Astra will be pretty nice.

Re: Sketch Just Surfaced for 2010/11 Saturn Astra

It appears to be quite a bit larger in that drawing. The current Astra's rear doors look like they almost reach the hatch and this one has plenty of sheetmetal past the rear doors. Does anyone know if the next gen is supposed to be a larger car?

Seems to be the trend for cars. Everything continues to slowly increase in size and then they just introduce smaller cars underneath.

Hope it looks better then this! Usually renderings aren't real close to the actual vehicle though...

Well some of the cues in the drawing are consistent with the test mule spy shots from a couple weeks ago. So we'll see

I like it! Is the next gen. Astra going to be build state side as rumored?

Not a huge fan. I loved Opels when I lived overseas. We need a sedan version in the US.

Re: Sketch Just Surfaced for 2010/11 Saturn Astra

Not bad at all. Not bad at all.

I really really like the Astra 2 door.
They probably could have worked on the ergonomics a bit, but that's ok. The car drives really well. It's more unique looking that that silly Cobalt. I just wish the 3-door had a sunroof. THat really was a deal breaker for me.

In case you were wondering - it is a chopped new Seat Ibiza (a car smaller than Astra, answering some of the woes voiced).

I agree with you.

I dunno though, I know the Astra we have is old in Europe, but I like the current one. Just needs a body kit like the Nurburgring version.

It is old in Europe and I too hate the standard bumpers. The OPC ones are perfect and if I bought an Astra, I'd order some OPC bumpers from the other side of the pond. DOT and MTO be damned.
maybe they'll just send the tooling from Antwerp over here and we can build the old one a little longer. If that were going to happen, it would happen in Mexico. But it won't happen anyway.
