Going Saturn Shopping

Well I have decided it is time for the Equinox to go. So next Saturday I am going to go to Saturn (2hrs away..ugh) and possibly buy a 2008 Vue XR.

I was leery of trading the Equinox in, but it has come to that point. It will depend on if the Saturn dealership gives me a decent amount for the Equinox (perferably $2,000 over bluebook).

I hope I am a Saturn owner this time next week!

As a long time Saturn devotee, I think you will find the "Saturn experience" a breath of fresh air compared to the punishment of dealing with a Chevy dealer. The Vue is a nice choice if you can afford to give up interior space and driver seat comfort. Good luck!

I sure hope so. I've been communicating with one of the salespeople at this dealership for awhile and am pleased with his knowledge on product.

The Vue does have less "space", but the cargo area in the Vue is more useable than that of my Equinox.

Gah, will you ever buy an age-appropriate conveyance? You were getting there with the G6.

The VUE is nice. It's just not very dynamic looking.

The Vue won't be a daily driver. Its just my rec vehicle kind of.

Most "age appropriate" vehicles come with a hefty insurance premium as well. Nonetheless, the G6 replacement will be my fun car.

Re: Going Saturn Shopping

The experience should be generally good, but don't get your heart set on an overly fantastic trade value. Saturn dealers have more wiggle room, since there's no discount, but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll get thousands more.

Congratulations nsap.
Our neighbor two doors down has a new 2008 Vue and it looks fantastic.
You might want one of these after making the purchase, especially if you plan on posting here about it....

MEDIOCRITY: It takes a lot less time, and most people won't notice the difference until it's too late.

Well, good then. I guess I meant it in relation to buying new cars. And the FWB was a boy-hood dream car, so once this nostalgia phase passes, so too will the car.

Re: Going Saturn Shopping

Why on Gods green earth would you get a Vue as a rec vehicle and not as a daily? There is only ONE Saturn I can think of that would be good for a "rec" vehicle. It seats less then 5, it doesn't have a V6 but has the power, and its not equiped with AWD...

I wouldn't make a habit of it... but listen to BigAl! You've got the G6 when you need to carry friends and family... get something a little more intimate for your fun car!

Re: Going Saturn Shopping

Yeah. The hell? Why not get a SKY Redline? Why do you need TWO five-passenger FWD, V6, automatic transmissioned vehicles?
