I bought a manual coupe, because I could not find a sedan anywhere.
There is no room in the back seat and the stupid spoiler and agressive back window has very limited vision...another example of designer vs practical engineering. Because of the agressive swoop, the trunk opening is very small. I cannot even put a normal size ice chest in the trunk.
Fuel mileage is great except:
It is definitely "EPA tuned" for 55mph. At 55 (with no wind) I get about 42mpg.
But........Turn on the air con and you lose 4mpg (I have the digital readout). 4mpg is excessive, Studies on "normal" vehicles show 1-2 mpg loss. At 60mph you get about 38mpg. Run 70mpg and you'd be lucky to get 32mpg.
City driving sucks up the fuel. Much less than 30 mpg. I drive very conservatively and my average including a few limited town trips is about 36.5 mpg.
I think if you compare the XFE with my wife's Sentra authomatic at 65mpg with the air on, the Sentra would win at about 32mpg.

But despite limitations, the value is good....if you don't have to indulge in your speed lust.
PS I am at about 4000 miles and my oil readout is still over 70% useful life.
You can just go to the dealer and order a customized one...

Don't hold your breath. It's still a Chevy Cobalt.

And it isn't possible to get the XFE package or a manual transmission with decent options, either.

Try to build one on Chevy's website. The XFE sedan is only on the base models, and the manual transmission is only on the base models and the SS or "Sport".

Just because it's a small car doesn't mean it has to be a cheap car.
