(video) Just for fun: Burning rubber in the 2010 Chevy Camaro

Quote:
Our first-drive review of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro is under a strict embargo until Friday evening, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing we can share from the media launch event. So, what’s the first thing you would do behind the wheel of a new muscle car? That’s right: burn a little rubber.

Notice how the video never shows the Camaro burning rubber from a standing stop in straight line acceleration, only while turning in a tight cirlce. Also, the Camaro looks so plain from the side view. I gotta feeling alot of fans are going to be let down by this typical GM effort.

There is another video out there, Jalopnik I think, where the Camaro does a burnout in a straight line.

If you turn the traction control off you should be able to light them up in a straight line. A lot of vehicles will kick in traction control whenever there's yaw and wheelspin whether you turned it off or not. I still think the Camaro looks awesome, and I will own one, it's just a matter of when.

I'm getting tired of hearing all the negativity on this website. Aren't we supposed to applaud when GM launches one of the most highly-anticipated cars of the decade with one of the most bang-for-the-buck buys in the segment? Everyone's constant bitching and moaning is really making this place a drag.
